Vodafone is offering between €50 and €200 off your next prepay phone if you top up €20 or more for 6 months. You'll receive your voucher in Septmber. Linky

    How to sign up:

    1. text CHEER to 50220 before February 28
    2. Vodafone will add up all your monthly top ups between March and August 31, 2010

    T&Cs

Not a bad offer considering you need to top up by at least €20 to enjoy free Vodafone to Vodafone call&text.

    Thanks button is
    >:D

im gonna switch from o2 to vodafone this week anyway and they say i get 120euro free credit if i top up by 20 a month for 6 months . Would i also qualify for this offer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

Seems ok, But they say that the amount you top up by is proportionate to the voucher value.
So does this mean if i top up by 20 each month i get that amount exactly back in vouchers

Also if you buy a new phone with the voucher you do not get any free credit with it, Which does kinda suck!

    could someone interpret this
"Credit in excess of the Threshold may not be transferred to another Prepay mobile number."

You cant have to much credit on an account and spread it to another

Am I correct then if you at any time in the 6 months send credit to another phone then you don't get the voucher?

No, doesnt mean that at all

Does that mean if a monthly top up of €20 from now until August means I'll get a €50 voucher?

I must be having a bit of a brain freeze this morning!!

yes, if you text CHEER to 50220 before February 28
top up by 30 a month get a 100 euro voucher etc..

    good deal considering
if you top up by 50 euro * 6 months = 300 euro credit

300 euro credit spend gets a 200 euro voucher

    After reading the T&C:
Once opted in, the Offer and Top up amounts will be counted from March 01, 2010 to August 31, 2010.

So just sign up now but your top up before March won't be counted.

Where the value of voucher exceeds handset price there will be no refund of the difference.

Don't top up too much if you're only after a Nokia 1110 etc.

presumably, it doesnt affect the free talk and text to vodafone offer at the minute?

So if you spend €300 over 6 months you get a €200 voucher off a phone?

Why not just buy the stupid phone and save yourself the €100 difference?

    I don't think it's such a great offer, unless you're spending 20 a month anyway.

No, proportionate means that the more you top up by, the bigger the voucher they'll give, but you don't get a voucher of the value of all your top ups.

If you top up by €20 a month, you'll get a €50 Voucher in September (after spending €120 euro on top ups over the 6 months)

If you top up by €50 a month, you get a €200 voucher in September (after spending €300 on top ups over the 6 months)

Ppl on BA's are usually good with t &c's, so anyone had a problem with this?
As in gotten a text saying they'll be getting a lower voucher amount than expected?

Apparently Vodafone are claiming you only get the voucher that corresponds to the MINIMUM monthly cummulative amount, as in if you topped up like this:
    Feb: 80
    March: 80
    April: 80
    June: 80
    July: 80
    August: 20

that you only get the 50 euro voucher and your total average of 70 makes no difference, your lowest monthly average was 20 so you get the 50 voucher.
Anyway rather than repeating myself check my post here in this topic.

I believe VF are being very sneaky and there T&C's mentions nothing about a minimum cummulative monthly total.

you won't get any free credit with the phones on the offer according to the t+c's

Hadn't spotted that, but I can live with it as I still have loads of credit after topping up with €50 for the last 6 months!

    :(
I hope I get my 200 voucher - i'm a bit too broke to be buying anything halfway decent if they insist on only 100 voucher...

Yeah, The phones around €100 don't seem to be too special. (Just like every phone I have had before now!)

Its a pity that on the vodafone website the TopUp history doesnt go back 6 months so you can really see/prove that you should be getting a €200 voucher. With that said I'm sure you could demand that they detail in which month(s)
you didn't top up by €50.

(Actually the TopUp history is kinda useless unless you can go back at least a few months. Presumably they don't want to remind you how much you've actually spent on credit.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,747 ✭✭✭Klingon Hamlet

Is there any way of confirming whether I was registered for this deal? I remember signing up for it but still, I haven't got a text yet. I rang customer services and the first operator said she couldn't check anything to do with that; the second said yeah I'm due a text today.

Even if they could show you when you didn't top up by 50 it wouldn't matter, should be the average of your monthly topups. I know someone who got a 200 euro voucher and when their topup history was checked online, for august they only topped up by €40.
