Hi all, this thread will replace the existing thread and will be used for all discussions and banter pertaining to the XBOX360 leagues. The old thread has served it's purpose and will be closed now, this can be used from now on.

Glad to see the new one starting so soon. Good job on the admin side of things .

I ended up with Man city again . Boring I know, and I did try to pick somebody else but by the time it was my turn to pick they were the best team left in my estimation. On the plus side, I know their team very well at this stage and know the best 11 to use and who to bring in from the bench, right from the first game. So thats an advantage I suppose.

Even though the number is down and there is only 13 of us in the premiership, in my opinion this is the best season so far in terms of quality. I wouldn't bet on a winner thats for sure. It's gonna be very close

I presume you mean live season? It doesn't work in leagues, you get the standard teams as they were on day one of release!

I think Man City are class in Fifa 10, easily up there with most of the top teams. Should be a good season.

Yeah I borrowed one off Richie so i'm good to go should it be needed.

Can anyone who hasnt given thanks on the rules sticky do so before we start. I'll be sending the league name and password to people over xbox to those that have, those that havent wont be allowed to enter the league till they do.

Championship going to be interesting, I ended with Real Madrid but I bet I will still finish lower end of the table. Richie will be hard to beat depending on his team selection. Keep an eye out on Timeout with Chelsea.

I reckon Yapa to do well in the prem.

Some of the picks so far in the championship have been interesting, Man City picked second and Wolfsburg picked 5th..Wolfsburg also making an appearance in the premiership this season.

Im surpised at some of the teams that have been picked so far, theres a few decent ones left there for you to pick.

I was quite shocked myself!!

Well good luck to whoever gets Utd, I couldn't get the hang of them at all last season, Rooney is the only player on the team that's any good!!

Yeah the difference in picks between the different leagues is weird. Was suprised to see Wolfsburg picked and suprised at some of the teams people picked early on. Poor Yapa could have had them but he didnt noticed and others had them as their second choice but got their first so they just went by unnoticed

Bayern are lovely as an attacking team but they are truely dreadful defensively. Both of their keepers are terrible.

With Fifa 10 all keepers are terrible, they run out like headless chickens and wont stay on their line. Bayern have a savage forward line though and for that alone im suprised they werent picked earlier. Suprised you havent changed your signature yet!

Unless you play as Bayern, you won't understand just how bad the keepers are. As for my sig, I'm going for something Terry-inspired Seems fitting!

I had Bayern as my 2nd choice but AC Milan just about pipped them for me cos the defence is decent and I like using the front 3.

Reina saved my ass last season, the amount of point blank shots and 1v1s that he saved were unreal.

Yeah went with Bayern. Couldnt believe they were still free. Was tempted to go with Valencia again as it was in the second half of the season I actually started playing really well with them but didnt want to be boring *cough* kirby :P

Played one quick game with them and like Gomez,Ribery,Robben and Klose. Bit worried about the defence but I think they are an overall improvement on Valencia and in attacking terms much the same as them. Mata ,Silva, Villa and Hernandez were all pretty damn good.

Toni is a great sub to have on the bench too, strong and great in for the headers. Definitely an overall improvement on Valencia, and you won the league with them...ahhh crap

Yeah I noticed that but Valencia are such a small team that I got used to playing with small speedy players so dont know if ill even use Toni! Robben, Gomez and Ribery are fast and Klose is pretty quick so i might just stick with them.

good god...wolfsberg are NOT what I thought they would be...didnt get to play with them as my tv was broken when i was in college...just had to go on stats and word of mouth...all hail kirk the dog...prem champ again

True but I just find Klose falls over too easy when tackled where as Toni brushes defenders aside. Guess it depends what way you prefer to play yourself. That said its not like Klose will miss a header if the chance is there.

problem with bayern is that dimechelis and Van Buyten are both dreadfully slow. One strong but slow centre back is okay, but two of them will cause you problems. And as Future guy mentioned, both Butt and Rensig are terrible keepers. Take our words for it If you have a top fifa keeper like Cassius or Reina it makes a huge difference.

They sort of make up for it with good fullbacks and two excellent CDM's in Van Bommel and Tymoschuk though.

Having said that, I'ts rather disconcerting that the last pick got such a good team going forward.

Well I'm screwed for this season anyway, Milan's players get absolutely pushed off the ball if even a light wind hits them. And Pirlo couldn't possibly be slower.

hahaha sounds so familier, i had them last season and they are dreadful. The defence is sound but they are the slowest midfield and attack bar pato. Pato is your key man, i recommend getting rid of pirlo for flamini and hunterlar for borriello. Its not a huge difference but at least they have a bit more speed. Theres also abate in the reserves who is quick but completely useless at everything except running.


Once everyone realises you just have to stand on pato and milans attack becomes very limp, your going to be in for a frustrating season.

Hope ya can cope better with them better then i did.

Thank god i got Liverpool this season, at least i will be able to attack and have a bit of pace.

What I learned about Bayern is as an attacking team they can play 2 completely different styles. If you are up against a team lacking a little speed, go with Gomez and Klose behind him. If you are playing a team lacking height and width, stick on big Toni and whip in crosses. Schweinsteiger has some shot on him.

So, Valencia then... at least this time I'm playing as a club I actually like and there are a few options up front, although its a bit like the land of the midgets at times.

They seem decent overall.... so for saying that, I'll probably get relegated!

They are actually a quality team when you get used to them. If you work a formation with Villa,silva,mata and hernandez all in advanced attacking roles you should get plenty of goals and miguel and manuel fernandes are pretty good too. But yeah they are a tiny team unless you play zigic whos ****e!

Im actually missing them at the minute. Played games last night with bayern for the first time against Parawind and Storybud and they both pretty much flaked me. Parawind absolutely raped me with Torres. Bayerns defence is abysmally slow and the keeper is poo and and I cant seem to get Ribery on the ball enough.

Good Jesus, I know what you mean..Zigic is funny. Its like he is shooting with wellies on! I suppose hes something different with his height if I'm ever stuck.

I've been using Manuel Fernandes too (Albelda & Baraja get passed out by snails).

Overall they could be good enough when I get used to them..I need to change the way I play, not used to midgets.
