Ford Original Speakers Help

    Greetings everyone.

I have a 2004 Ford Ka Sport with the 6000CD audio system. The speaker on the drivers side appears to be fecked as I'm getting a fair amount of distortion on that side. The left side is perfect!

I'd prefer to replace the speaker with one of the same type since I won't be having the car for too much longer and being a poor student I haven't the funds really to replace both of them.

So in essence, I was wondering if anyone on here would know where to source one such speaker compatible with the 6000CD system, and if at all possible, how much would I expect to pay?

If you need any more information about the car then please ask!

    Thanks a lot,
    John:)

Start ringing scrappys and see if they have it. If not then a ford dealership.
Are they not just standard 13cm speakers?
What sort of distortion? Is it clipping/ buzzing etc.

To be honest I haven't a clue what size they are. I asked in Halfords and the lad in the shop hadn't a clue.

The speaker is a lot less quieter then the one on the left (balance and fader are fine ;)) and there is a bad rumbly noise if there's any sort of bass being played through it, the sound breaks up on that side as a result.

I think they are proprietary Ford speakers, as I recall vaguely from a conversation with a friend who fitted aftermarket speakers, that he had to get some form of adaptor for the speaker cable to allow his new aftermarket speakers to connect to his Ford head unit.

Ringing scrappys seems like a good place to start though.

    Thanks!

If you have no luck locally give www.traynors.co.uk up North a ring, they are a huge salvage dealer and bound to have a Ka in stock. Also have a look at the old 1995 to 2002 Fiesta, they share alot of parts with the Ka.

I needed to change the speakers in my passat awhile back and went about putting in Pioneers.
My local motorfactor didn't have the right size in stock so I reluctantly went to my local VW dealer and found that the Originals are actually cheaper that the Pioneers and they are able to order as many or as few as you like. So if you just want 1 then you only have to order 1.
The speakers were 30 quid each iirc, the pioneers were 62.99 for the pair. So, don't be afraid to pop into the Ford dealer. You might get a pleasant surprise.
