Good to have it back though why is that clueless weasel Cantwell still at the helm? Is it too much to ask to have someone who is actually knowledgeable of the game steering the debate? Con Murphy used to do an admirable job.
Mark McDermott was offering some analysis as to why Ireland were stale on Saturday; he said it was mainly because they haven't played together since November yet she gathers from that that Mark says Ireland aren't good enough. The guy was just looking at her with a WTF expression, not for the first time either.
Honestly, stick to the GAA love.

Its good to see it back and its on for an hour this year which is good. If RTE get to show ML matches next season hopefully there'll be a weekly rugby program.

Agree with profitius.I think it should either be weekly or not at all.Itll run from now until maybe the middle of April when the heineken cup, magners league and AIL are all getting to their crunch point. There is definitely a market for a one hour slot one night a week or at least from the start of the 6n until the season is over.

The HC highlights are usually very comprehensive for Munster and Leinster but not enough for Ulster and not enough for the other games in the competition where a couple of minutes highlights of the big games wouldn't be hard to put together and they could give the Connacht challenge cup games at the sportsground a few minutes airing as well.

Must say the 6n coverage is very good with 4 u20 games and the Scotland A game available as well as all 15 games during the competition so thats very strong and to have it on the rte player is great to catch up when you miss a game.

She actually knows a lot more about the game than you appear to think. She's good as a host and gives the pundits a chance to not only speak but finish their sentence.
Calling her a weasel isn't too clever either.

Given that she's weaseled her way in to this position somehow I thinks it's appropriate. If you had been watching her performance over the entirety of her Against The Head work then you might have a clue what I'm talking about. She is out of her depth and working off her own poor script most likely.

Reckon this'll be on the rte player? Completely forgot about it!

The producers obviously like her by giving her the role as anchor for the programme. Anything else is speculation.

I watched the programme and in my opinion, she's not out of her depth and not only knows her sport but loves it too.
Richard & Judy could present the thing.

When it comes to rugby, poor Joanne is like a fish up a tree.

That type of attack on a presenter isn't on, you can make a point without resorting to abuse like that.

    Don't do it again please.

No,you probably should have listened better.
He did indeed say something along the lines of "we are not as good as we think we are",may not have been worded exactly like that but he definitely said something like that.

As for her as a presenter, she does a good job.

Presenters aren't supposed to really have any in-depth knowledge of the game, thats what the panel is there for. Cantwell, like McGurk is merely asking the questions that have been pre-written for her to ask the panel, i think she is pretty refreshing and knows a lot more than you might think.

Don't have an issue with her, and just glad for a bit of rugby on a Monday evening. I'll take what I can get.

she cant be any worse than George Hamilton's performance for the England Wales game, he must have mixed up players about 5 times, he kept on mixing up James Hook and Stephen Jones.

Exactly, just look at the RTE talent surrounding her: Hamilton, Nugent, McGurk, Hook!! In that company she seems pretty stellar...

I thought his reference to Wales loosedhead prop James Williams was priceless.

Hamiliton isn't bad considering he has no real passion for the game. Nugent is a plank but its been well discussed on here.

As for Joanne I dont really have an issue with her as the pannel are decent and she lets them run. She does appear(like all presenters) to be just reading off a script and having watched the whole series I don think she has a deeper understanding of the game that she's holding back. But she's far better then most of the token females Sky sports force on us.

How good was O Gara's pass? Didn't really appreciate it in real time

Lovely, but a little 'flat' maybe?
