    Hi,

I've been thinking about buying the above for the past while now and came across a store in Dublin city centre that sells them new for 579euros - just looking for some advice on the following:

Part of the deal also includes jailbreaking (I'm not sure what network it's tied to as I forgot to ask... the shop offers one month warranty after which they say the apple warranty covers the phone, do I need to register the phone or something or would I need proof of purchase..?)

So, is it worth taking the jailbreak option or will that just be a pain in the a-hole having to constantly jailbreak after each new update by myself? (what is the most uptodate jailbreak release that I should request also?)

I'm an O2 speak easy prepay customer and had planned on paying 609euros for the same phone locked to their network, would it be worth the extra 40euros to go with this or is the jailbreak option the better of the two?

Apologies if these are stoopid questions but I'm not to sure about all this jailbreak rigmarole as am new to the whole iPhone game ;)

Thanks in advance for any info peops :pac:

Important you understand difference between jailbreak and unlocking. Unlock is the important one for you. Means it will work with any network.
Your apple warranty is void when you jailbreak, so be sure you can reverse the jailbreak yourself.

Cheers for your response Conolan ;)

Apologies, what I meant to say was that the phone is unlocked to any network by the shop at point of purchase - is this a good idea or should I stick with the locked O2 option?

    Thanks again!

Depends what you wanna do.. Are you likely to change networks or need to use a different sim when abroad? If its unlikely, I'd go with the o2 option just for peace of mind if something goes wrong. Are the other crowd official Apple resellers? If not you have no way of knowing how much of the warranty is left.

following trend and some serious rumours, we could well see a new iPhone in june, with a very slight chance of April according to at least one source,, but june is more likely. I'd be shocked not to see a new one at least announced by june.

Any chance you could pm me the name of the store and where it is in the city?

If you ask the person in the store for the serial number of the iphone you can check if it's still in warranty or not via the apple website.
