    Hi,
I'm just off the phone after an hour long conversation with a company I have read before aren't operating with the best hearts.

My phone has been called numerous times before from the same number + 4 4 1 2 3 4 5 6, sometimes it would get cut off straight away and I've read that this is a dialler seeing when I pick up to see when is best for a real person to call me. So today I got a real person and the line wasn't the best and we got cut off, then another caller rang claiming to be from bu s i ne s s p r o d e s i g n s.com and gave me their URL of b u s i n e s s pr o c r ea t i ve s.com and was telling me about the CMS and everything, when I asked what CMS stood for, she said "campaign management system"

While on the line I asked the "live chat" if they call from the above number and they said yes, that it's a VOIP dialler. They also have another number listed on the website, I googled both numbers and got the following pages:

    http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/2081332514

She put me through to her manager anyway and he was telling me to look at various sites they've done, Irish ones such as http://whois.domaintools.com/nationaldrivingschool.ie, http://whois.domaintools.com/finaltouch.ie and http://whois.domaintools.com/citihostels.com

I then went to another site that wasn't "linked" to from their portfolio but I googled what I could see of the name and saw the same site, I did a whois on this, http://whois.domaintools.com/tallaghtschoolofmotoring.com and the results speak for themselves.

From reading the above page on whocallsme.com, there appears to be problems with flights being booked with the same CC in India and all kinds of problems, but maybe they do actually do genuine design work for some.

It seems they are going through Goldenpages for business numbers anyway.

    Anyone else experienced this?

We run a Virtual Office Serivce and we have been bombarded with these calls for the past numebr of days 100+ calls for us and our clients so we are just hanging up on them as they don't seem to understand " We are Not Interested"

Based on the way they do business Business Pro Design would be the last company I would turn to if I needed web design.

By the way they will tell you they are not selling anything which always makes me suspicious.

I used to get it all the time when I lived in +44 land years ago - at home - one would be sitting down to dinner after a hard days work and the phone rings. Double glazing sales, BT market research to find out if your phone book was delivered properly - were you impressed with the wrapping etc. Time wasters, all of them. It is also a problem in the US. I've never experienced it on the Continent or in Ireland.

Google has a phone service in the US - Google voice. One if its features is dumping unwanted callers (based on their caller ID) to voicemail. You can record lots of different greeting messages on google voice, tailored for the caller - business callers get message A, your parents/wife get message B, repeated spammers get message C etc. Your voicemails end up in your email. Lots of other features. You can also block calls without ID - block the blocker.

It is a pity it isn't available with European phone numbers. Perhaps someone will copy it?

While email spam is a waste of time - phone spam is a bigger pain and waste of resources.

There are many people who cold call to increase their business prospects. But I think that it is very difficult to get business through cold calling. Most of the people whom you call will hang up on you when they come to know that you are trying to sell something.

I hate it also, and constantly getting calls from outsourcing companies and recruitment agencies, I know most of their numbers now though

Cold calls can be annoying having been on the receiving end of quite a few in my time. However, I think the other side of it is that sometimes the odd (and I mean the VERY odd) one has actually opened my eyes to something that was actually beneficial to me and that had I not received the call, I wouldn't have known existed.

I personally feel that those persistent pushy cold-callers give all sales people a bad name when some of them aren't that bad at all and at the end of the day, are only trying to do their jobs like the rest of us. BUT some of them have got to stop harrassing people and remember that the rest of us have our own work to be going on with too.
