hey we're a new band looking for a drummer doing originals only. eager to get gigging when we find the right drummer. we are all open minded and like all genres but are playing rock/blues/garage. influences are spiritualized, the charlatans, primal scream, brmc, brian jonestown massacre to name but a few. If your interested get in touch.

    cheers

Erm, what makes them stereotypical or clichèd?

At least they are playing something intelligent as opposed to braindead 3 chord trick merchants like U2/Oasis/every indie pop band out there.... now THAT is stereotypical and clichèd pap

I take serious offence to that, there are well over 4 and a half chords in most u2/oasis indie pop bands out there, I think most of your posts are just u2/oasis bashing posts, what happened to you? Did someone with a good haircut nick your bird at an oasis gig or something. Obsessed.

No need to be so defensive mate, nobody cares about your possible gayness here. The important thing to remember in all of this is Slave Zero suck. A lot.

I'm not being biased, I'm just having taste. I mean, it's not as if I like them any less than all the other appalling bands out there. I dislike all awful bands an equal amount. Can't say fairer than that.

Well yep it is true about Slave Zero that they're doing fairly well, the singer is only in his 30's and i think they may have already headlined Fibbers and Cleere's in Kilkenny. Hope OP is having luck finding a band to suit his own taste.

Taste is individual, is it all metal you hate or just Slave Zero?

And PS, are the mods on holiday? This is bands and musicians not musical opinions, Slave Zero have a right to look for a drummer on a musicians forum without being ranked on by teenage wannabes who have the musical ambition of Morrissey

Love good metal, hate crap metal that gives metal a bad name. Metal.

I don't know much about Morrissey, but I would have thought building an audience in the thousands rather than the tens shows some ambition. But before you blindly label me as some kind of Morissey-related person consider this:

    Conformity,
    The tyrant wants your soul,
    No will to be,
The millions of others just like you,
    Pledging their souls,
For the purest reason that they know,
    (We are as one)

    Think about it...

A.) Amassing followers is not what I'm talking about, creating real music with musicians that can actually express themselves on their instruments rather than using the old "3 chords and the truth" cop out

B.) Isn't that from a Slave Zero song?

slave zero are supporting hatebreed on there secret show on saturday before the main show with machine head on sunday, and im pretty sure they have a distrobution deal in the US also! so YOU might think they are crap metal but obviously to aloy of people they are not! so dont start saying that they are **** and give metal a bad name! YOU MIGHT THINK THAT but its people like you that give metal a bad name, calling bands **** and not supporting the local scene, instead of giving constuctive criticism!

and well done for hijacking the thread pal!

Woah, woah, settle the kettle petal, you'll give yourself a hernia getting all wound up like that. I absolutely do think Slave Zero suck hard, there's no "might" about that. If other suckers want to part with their money to see them or own their albums that's their mistake. Crap metal is what gives the metal scene a bad name, not people pointing out that a band are woeful.

If you have nothing new to offer then don't form a band. Who needs a low-rent Irish version of Pestilence when we already have the real Pestilence? Slave Zero do nothing new which is why nobody cares about them. The fact that they're friends with Hatebreed (another band almost nobody cares about) is just a lucky coincidence for them. The bulk of Hatebreed's audience will be getting beers while Slave Zero are on.

Also, if you guys are so worried about the thread being hijacked don't reply to my posts :)

I have suspicions that they did things to Rover yes, it'd be like them. As for the 3rd verse of Stan, I can't say I'm familiar with it. Why are you?

Also, you're keeping the thread way off topic here, bad form.

I think the name´stan´ is a pretty concise statement as far as im concerned for our friend goldentickets. The SZ boyz told me a while back that they get about 5 emails a day from him, talking about the band whether it be abuse or what not...very bi polar stuff.
you seem to know alot of info about a band you really hate eh? did they not return fanmail to you or something stan...."or did they make you wait four hours in the blistering cold but they just said no.."

I think the guy should seriously get a life and go out and meet some girls....surely theres planty of girls in UCD´stan´? or maybe your not into that scene...maybe try the george you might have more luck there....

you want lyrics and into your metal eh? maybe read the lyrics to "cyberwaste" by fear factory....and then take a look in the mirror you pu$$y.
