Browser warning when signing up for Dublin Bikes

    Hi,

I've been trying to sign up to Dublin Bikes, but I get a message from my browser:

    "This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to abo-dublin.cyclocity.fr, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

    What Should I Do?

    If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue."

Has anyone else seen this? And is it safe to continue?

    Cheers.

    What browser are you using?

The site has a certificate so I don't know why you're getting that message.

I vaguely recall getting the same, and just adding an exception to get round it.

Worth reporting to DB I think.

I use Firefox, also saw a similar warning for the site on IE.

Check your date and time is correct on your PC....could be causing the certificate to think its out of date.

This is the most common cause of this error.

No, I think it's something to do with the certificate chain, root authorities and all that guff.

Perhaps an old version of firefox which doesn't have an updated list of root authorities

Could be a combination of a few of the things mentioned, could also be that the SSL certificate is not from one of the recognized SSL Certificate companies (e.g Verisign, Thawte..etc.), and the IT staff responsible for the site created there own (to save a few euros), if this was the case and you know the cert is from who you think it should be from, then you can accept the cert and carry on.

I'm using boggo Firefox 3.6 and I get an error, e.g here.

Actually, I'm getting the same error here on firefox too, but not on IE. I imagine that the certificate authority (TBS Internet) has not been included in the firefox list of authorities, but has been included in the IE list.

Right looked into this a bit more and it is a trusted CA (TBS X509).

Taken from TBS web site web site.
TBS X509 is a French certification authority founded in 2006 by TBS INTERNET. We use a WebTrust-compliant infrastructure. Our certificates have a browser recognition rate of 96%

With TBS X509 certificates, activate the SSL mode for major browsers such as Microsoft IE 5.01, 5.5, 6, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape 4.77+, AOL 7+ natively recognise TBS X509 certificates (but not mobile objects (PDA, phones, etc.))! The server simply needs to be SSL v3 compliant.

Make sure your Encryption setting is SSL V3 - and all should be ok.

No, I think there is some other part of the process involving domain abofr-ppraix.cyclocity.fr (whose cert gives the warning)
