Bit of stupid question , but here goes , I was just wondering what is the advantage in increasin to a larger volt battery . Incase it matters I have a kalash M4 with a nunchuck style battery , think maybe 8.4V .. So would there be any advantage other than the longer battery life?

You get a higher Rate of Fire and better trigger response, it'll last a little longer too.,

If the Dboys is one of the lastest batches (made after maybe october-ish) then it'll most likely have a 9.6 battery already. each cell has 1.2 volts so just count the cells and see if it adds up to 8.4 or 9.6., :)

increase in voltage will increase rof, increase in mHa will increase battery life, this is very simplified as the two of the also have a impact on discharge rate and trigger response but you get the idea

Just had a look there , some effort getting to the battery on it lol . Its an 8.4V , so would it be worth upgrading to a 9.6V ?

personay i think yes, i'v seen HUGE changes in just the difference of a extra cell.

Rate of fire and trigger response deffinatly increasing at a noticable amount!

I'm just after a realistic rate of fire, but I also want a fast trigger response. Are trigger response and rate of fire both linked or can you change one and not the other?

I'm no pro in gear boxes but i think trigger response would put your rate of fire up. unless you spend good money, i know of things that can alter both!

Well realistic would be 10ish for an AK and a bit more, maybe 15 for an armalite so pretty slow if you use an AK. 10rps won't give you the most fantastic trigger response, infact, that'd do my head in, you'll really notice the wind up and snap of the gun.

If you knew what you were doing you could wire in an extra cell (or a few) that only become part of the circuit when the gun is switched to Semi but it would take a good understanding of the workings of the guns. not really something for someone new.

You'll definitely see a difference in ROF with a higher voltage battery.

If you switch from an 8.4v to a 9.6v just make sure your internals can handle it.
If the gun is any way decent it should be grand.

I normally get all my batteries on ebay at this store.

They can custom make them to your spec .i.e voltage, dimensions and connectors and they are pretty cheap too.

I got a 9.6v 2200mAh last year for 20euro delivered to my door.
Have never had a problem with it.
