Do you want a game gun or a clay gun or an all rounder?

What type of shooting do you intend to partake in? Clay, game ??? I had a baikal which I used for everything. Traded it against a Beretta tekyns semi-auto. Probably should have kept it as it was a great gun for everything. Abseloutely unbreakable although a bit heavy for a days rough shooting. I am thinking about getting a o/u again for clay-shooting this summer. Semi-autos are a bit un p.c. on clayshoots. I have been looking at Bettinsoli sporters as a clay gun. Seem to be good value. Try all the dealers for second-hand shotguns. If I could afford it I'd definitely get another Beretta. Love the Teknys semi although you will be lucky to get one in your price range.

    +1 on the Lanber.
Have the Lanber sporter (fixed choke) for rough shooting. Affordable and does the job.
If your clay shooting you might want to upgrade to the multi choke model.

Try getting a second hand Beretta 682 Gold E. This is a sporting gun but it is light enough for when out on rough days. With the Beretta quality yo cant go wrong. They are about 2500 new, you might pick up a second hand one fo around th 1000. Well worth watching out for

For any form or hunting or competition, I would only go with an O/U, or a semi.

Quick follow up shot, with no need for the shooter to do anything except pull the trigger again.

When I started shooting I had a baikal o/u that was 1984 and its still in the cabinet.

Eventually I bought a Benelli semi for clays,
I know have the following and wont be changing for a while:

Betinsoli Supersport 3 yrs old now and its a perfect good value clay gun for trap and sporting (I shoot monthly I'm not into registered etc I do it for fun)

No problems with it has an adustable stock i only changed the green bead for a white one as it was catching my eye.

For the field I have a Beretta Urika I also use this for skeet

Go for a Lanber or Baikal, both strong and steady guns.

I've shot them for the last four or five years without issues and they are a great gun.
