Hi guys im building a frame myself soon its going to be a 10 speed proper road bike! i need your advice on the groupset, should i get the shimano sora (€205) or the campagnolo xenon/mirage on ribblecycles (€260) and which wheel set shall i get Campy Khasim Campy Vento or Fulcrum Racing 7 bwhich ones the best? im only 14 so i cant spend major big bucks. i know the fact that the campy groupset is more servicable. and i might build a wheelset as i can get carbon rims for 100 euro shipped on ebay! and ive built a couple of wheelsets thanks for your advice!!!

I gotta say i'd go for campy for the soul reason that i prefer how it looks on the bike, was in a pretty similar position to you this time last year. ended up with campy centaur group and vento wheelset and i'm very happy with it.

The latest Sora is 9sp, not 10sp.

If you want 10sp Campag, Ribble so a Xenon/Veloce mix for £264.95.

I've used 10sp Veloce before (2008 vintage), it was lovely. Veloce is very light compared to the Shimano equivalents (or was then).

edit: sorry, you're right - Xenon/Mirage is also 10sp, but that groupset is showing out of stock.

Personally I'd prefer the campag groupset and I've never had trouble with anything sent from Ribble - usually prompt and not too expensive. Can't really comment on the wheels other than to say I've some Fulcrum 5s which seem very nice (also made by campag I believe).
