Jaysus, it was only one result. Hardly a season breaker.

Friedel has been excellent for Villa again today, I can't get why people on this forum rate Given so far ahead of him. Well actually, I do know why

I'll take that. Staying where we belong. Great day for Liverpool.

Would have been soft. Finishes 0-0, Villa defended like their lives depended on it. Didn't offer much going forward. I would have taken the draw so I'm pleased, I suppose.

That was a load of balls typical villa always harassing and closing down thought Modric was MOM it's a pity he didnt hit his shot better at the start tho. Think it was a peno too.(we prob would of missed it tho)

    what a weekend for Liverpool

Under huge pressure towards the end there, take the point, but 3 points would of been huge for either side. Only one side looked like winning today though.

Richard Dunne was the clear MOTM. Modric? Seriously? I thought Bentley, Bale and King were maybe Spurs best players.

Very much so. They only thing that has me slightly worried are City's two games in hands, if they win them they're in the driving seat again. Let's hope they can slip up a few more times in the next few weeks.

Brad Fiedel and Dunne are very modest

Happy with being 4th? Surprising from so called 'Title Challengers'.

They Both said tottenham are very good etc and they hoped they had done enough to earn there point and Dunne said at the time I thought it was a penalty and both very much said we just want to put points on the board etc both came across very well.

4th is our aim this season, if you didn't know.

Yawn, I thought we'd discussed this and concluded you'd try a bit harder?

    we're not 'happy' per se.

but you adjust your aims as your season pans out.

it does not mean Liverpool fans are happy in the long run with being 'only' 4th.

I don't think it was a penalty. Defoe was going down without the touch from Petrov. I'm not saying it was a dive, just that he was already going down. IMO.

surprised all the pudits (and even dunne) are saying that was a definite peno for defoe. Does everyone think that?

I thought he saw petrov sticking his leg out and dived, looked like petrov pulled his leg back before he even touched him? The leg he would have got was in mid air and defoe just didn't put it back down, throwing it out from underneath him instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

Looked like he was already in mid-flight when he got kicked and was on the way down with or without getting touched.

Liverpool the big winners from this game.

Will be interesting to see how these two kick on from here, once Villa have Utd out of the way next, their fixtures look that bit easier. As for Spurs got a reasonable enough run until April when they play Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd.
