    Saw this at LIDL site

    http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20100211.p.Bluetooth_MP3_CD_Car_Radio

    Seems great Value for 70.00

    Anyone got one before?

    One Question :
" Simply plug in your stick/card and: playback from your memory stick/card, record any song or program on the radio with the touch of a button!"

Does this mean that you can run an Ipod through the unit ?

"With integrated card reader (SD/MMC) and USB port for connecting external devices (including iPod®) "

    That would be a yes.

Just goes to show what you learn if you read the whole thing.

My suspicion is that the iPod connection is as an external USB disk drive ie you may not be able to use iPod's own controls, just the forward/back, pause, random etc controls on the radio itself. Neither will you get the various playlists on the iPod. Also it is unlikely to charge the iPod. If they really have put full "made for iPod" capability in it that would be impressive but I would expect they would have the "Made for iPod" logo showing with all the other ones. You may have to set your iPod for "disk mode" by the way.

I have a LIDL one from 18 months ago - very similar to this - I tend to use 4G SD cards which don't hang down and fall out like the USB sticks, and I use my iPod via a minijack on the front panel - don't know if this model has that. The unit works very well - haven't tried the record function (why would you???) - the Bluetooth connected instantly with my Nokia - don't use the CD at all - the Radio reception was not wonderful I thought but that might be just me and whatever way the antenna is set up.

    Very good value as always.

PS: If anybody DOES find it is "made for iPod" please let us know! Thanks.

:) ah now - it was ten to 4 in the morning when he posted this! And he was probably using his iPhone which is not the easiest platform to type on.
At 03.47 I was in a bit of a "comma" meself.......
