Rent Allowance Awarded - Low?

Just got told I was going to be rewarded rent allowance, but I'm only going to get €24 a week...

From speaking to people and from looking it up online I was expecting to get around €90 a week. Anyone any idea why or how they arrived at the €24 figure? 2 bed apartment in D8, my rent is €400 a month, I've been renting since last May (elsewhere, not this address, only moved here in November) and I got made redundant from my job last October and have been on the dole since.

Can anyone confirm if this is "right" or "normal" in the grand scheme of things, and if I can appeal the decision to get more? I'm not trying to be greedy but I seriously doubt I can survive on this amount.

Rent supplement is a means-tested payment.
Obviously your CWO have done the figures and decided you are entitled to X amount. You should get in touch with him and ask for how they calculated the amount you receive.

Are you sure you are not confusing the payment with the €24 you have to contribute yourself?
