Turkey via Italy Balkans or ....?

    Hi All

    We are heading to Uzumlu Turkey for summer but rather than going direct thought we would break up the journey by stopping off on the way for 4 or 5 days.

    At the moment am considering East coast of Italy - Florence,Venice,Bari etc

    Alternatively the Balkans -Montenegro,Sarajevo,Zagreb etc.

    or Vienna, Sofia,Greece, Germany (good for connecting flights)


    What do people suggest bearing in mind we will have to get a connecting flight to Dalaman in Turkey.
    We are 2 adults 2 kids 10 & 12.

    Already been to Istanbul but will consider any where

    Any help appreciated
