When riding from Dublin to Waterford I prefer to go via Tallaght, Blessington, Baltinglass, Bunclody, Enniscorthy, New Ross, Waterford. Quieter roads, less boring. From the Square in Tallaght thats 160km.

Good luck with it anyway. Hopefully the wind direction will be kind to you. Miserable trip with a headwind, great training though.

Cycled down with Raam in a morning in 2008 to see the Tour of Ireland stage finish. Very nice route almost completely on back roads- not entirely unhilly, nothing crazy but certainly rolling. Raam posted the route here if it is of interest. Note I had a GPS, makes it easier to follow a complicated route.

    yeah,
left from drumcondra sat morning bt 6.40, got bright going through blessington, continued onto baltinglass, carlow, pretty easily to Paulston , got a flat, then after thomastown turned for carrick on suit and on to Kilmacthomas

184k, aver 27.2 kph is that any good i m not sure? legs were fine today, just dont know where to go next, dreaming of l'etape but no funds

badly need some upgrades, using standard giant defy 2 at moment and wheels are crap, removed 3 spokes on the way came loose and were doing my head in,

so anyone selling some good wheels, i m in the market,

Well done. Speed was pretty good over the distance. whatever about doing 180k in an organised cycle, doing it on your own is tough.

That's good going for 184km Rothar Man, was it a tailwind?

I have a brand new pair of Ultegra 6700 wheels for shimano that I might not use if you want them for €275?
