Went up to a place in tallaght, name escapes me, near somewhere called dominicks though, I went because I told chargers were cheap, we were told we needed a pa12 charger I think, and your man said I could sell you a pa10 but it would only last a few months, however then the others in the shop said it would be grand, and he phoned someone and said it would be fine, and we bought it, will it be

However and more to the point, all this time he was on the computes flicking around the screen's basck was towards us so I couldn't see what he was doing, he said it looked slow and tried to sell us some ram, I said it's grand, only use it for the net, he was trying hard to sell, but I didn't bother

But ever since then the computer has slowed down hugely, everytime I go on facebook chat it freezes for about 10seconds whenever someone leaves me a message, and it's general perfomance has gotten a lot worse

Is it possible he did something to my computer in that short time? any ideas?

    Possible?

Yeah. Anythings possible. I would say its unlikely though.

If your computer is running slowly, I would just go through the normal steps to trouble shoot it. Virus check, defrag, check startup programs, get rid of any bloatware, etc. Try to use the most efficient software, so instead of MS Internet Explorer, use an alternative. Instead of a bloaty anti-virus (couple of notorious offenders) use something lighter.

Also, make sure it isn't on power saving mode !:pac:
