I tried to connect my laptop (sony vaio AW series) to a tv using a hdmi cable but I got no sound. The picture was crystal clear but I get no sound from the tv. I tried it in another tv and had the same problem. The hdmi cable I tried works perfect with my ps3 so it's not that. Could anyone please help me as it's driving me mad.

Hdmi on a laptop does my carry sound because it doesn't have a sound output on it's hdmi, your prob gonna have to get a jack to put it in the headphones part of the laptop
an plug it into the tv

When I plug in my hdmi the audio automatically stops on laptop and changes to NVIDIA hdmi audio out. I can manually change it back but would prefer sound from the TV. I'll pick up a m/m jack tomorrow, but that means more cables. If anyone else has a suggestion it would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
