I am trying to follow up on a story in our family that my mother's aunt, who never married, had a baby in the 1930's. Where can I find a list of state/religious/private mother and baby homes in south Co Dublin? And is it possible that the records of these institutions still exist?

I don't think such a list exists. Thoms directory would have listed things like "nursing home" or religious institutes but you'd need to go through page by page. The census in 1911 might give you a good start. Also, you could try talking to Adoption Ireland as they will have more specialised information.

    Cheers Pinky, I'll try that.
