    Hi all,

    Just a couple of questions.

I was claiming JSA for approx 14months up until July, when I was fortunate enough to get a job, unfortunately that only lasted until October, when I was let go due to a down turn :(. I went back into the Social Welfare office and signed back on and the girl told me that I hadnt been long enough signed off to start a new claim, and that they would simply reopen my old claim...happy days!, she said it would only take about 10 days. That was 2nd November 09. Since then, I have had to prove that I wasnt gone back to college (posters on the wall clearly state that there is sharing of info between colleges and social!).
So I had to provide all the info again, and fill out an application form again.
Heard nothing about that for a while, got a months work in December, so they gave me casual signing dockets, still heard nothing. So went down, and then they "lost" my file, had to fill out ANOTHER application, and provide more information, because the information I had provided wasnt sufficient, even though it was everything that they requested, but because they didnt provide me with the sufficent paperwork, I was in the wrong.
Anyway, got all that sorted, and got my means today - apparently, my means is 160 a week, where as with my old claim, which they mysteriously lost, it was 50, so now i'm being given about 30 a week i think? (23yr, Male - qualified if that makes a difference?, living at home).

My question is this, is there not a set amount of time I have to be in employment before my case is closed and I have to be means tested again? 26 weeks or something?, I think I remember reading it, but cant find it now.

Also, have I got grounds for a complaint?, when I was talking to the deciding officer, she was a bit snotty, and said that if I prefered she would just mark it all insufficient and I'd "get nothing". I got the impression that she didnt like me questioning her, and that it would take as long as she wanted.

Then a week after talking to her, I get my means which is basically giving me nothing.

Also, they took into account everything except, VHI repayments, mortgage repayments and the fact that I have a car loan, even though I told them.
At 30 a week, the loan is barely payable on a monthly basis
