Seeing as Reeling in the Years stopped at 1999, I thought it would be good if we did our memories from the last decade onto individual threads. I am going to post a thread of the year in chronological order and leave each one open, so it can continue being added to.

Post whatever you like that is relevant to the year both in Ireland and internationally. Music, events, politics, etc ;)

    2000

    2001

    2002

    2003

    2004

    2005

    2006

    2007

    2008

    2009

Reeling In The 2000s (Two Thousands)

I just hope that the Tenesses does take off, its simple the Tens or 10s and when we reach the teens its can be called either the teens or the tens.

    Where's 2009 ?

Yeh saw that too...I heard the makers on the radio last year and I was almost sure that they said it wouldn't be out for a few years yet. Definitely looking forward to it

CANNOT WAIT for this to start- it's the first decade that I can remember right from the start. I can recall the nineties events, but the early stuff, like Italia 90 is a bit hazy. Eek! :)

Y'know reeling in the years is probably the best thing rte has ever produced.
It has international appeal and it stands up to repeated viewing.
I can't think of a better programme on rte...ever...can you?

You are a khaki coloured bombardier, it's Hiroshima that you're nearing.

    YOU'RE WRONG.
What about other quality programmes like Glenroe, Fair City, Raw, The Late Late Show, The Restaurant, Mattie, The All Ireland Talent Show... okay, maybe you were right after all, oops. :o

    The Restaurant

I think The Restaurant is one of RTÉ's better formats. <<< also not sarcastic I do enjoy that show, how is Rachel Allen more popular than 2 fat Irish blokes complaining :) <<<< can't help the sarcastic remarks, I do like the show.
It has international appeal and it stands up to repeated viewing.

Actually it is often very inward looking Ireland's Greatest and Worst but intermixed with quality Irish Tunes with a few International stories and tunes thrown in.

But yes it is a good programme, nostalgia works.

For me without being negative/sarcastic Paths To Freedom is also quality.
