Jumping from JSA to Disability, and maybe back again

Hello. I'm a regular poster but need a new account for this one.

I was about to start a new job next week, and some prospective colleagues are on boards and I haven't spoken to my new boss about my issue I need to stay anonymous. Hope that's ok.

In short, my last contract ended in December. I've been on JSA since, was about to cancel it tomorrow because of the new job.

Now I've been diagnosed with an eye disease, this is not a PI, no need for sympathy I just need advice because I'm completely clueless and I know if I go into some citizens advice place I'll break down. The job is abroad and if I go and ignore this I will be blind in a few months.

I've seen the FAQ here but with my eyes it's too hard to read everything. I don't know where to start - I pick up my dole in Dublin, I'm now not well enough to get there. I don't have a fixed address as I was preparing to move abroad, I'll get that sorted soon, but in the meantime I don't even know in which county to redirect the payments. I'm under 25 so I'll have to go for an interview probably regardless, I'm really not up to a trek to Dublin with partial vision.

I know I shouldn't get JSA as I'm not in a position to work. So maybe I'll get disability for that time, I'm not sure. But after one month this current inflammation of the disease will most likely be gone and I'll be able to work so back to JSA I'll go until I can find a job in Ireland.

Maybe no one will be able to help. I just thought I'd try. I am in a good position in some ways - have savings, enough to live on for a few months and friends who would do anything.

    If anyone does reply, thanks.

A friend of mine is suffering from depression since February, now she's off work as she ended up in hospital with a high blood pressure episode. Apparently, the job is too much for her, but she cannot afford to let it go due to financial commitments. The doctor told her there is a welfare scheme called partial disability that she may be able to avail of. However, I was looking this up for her and all I can see is the Partial Capacity Benefit, which she is not entitled to as she is neither on disability (for 6 months), nor invalidity pension - this benefit allows someone who's on one of these two payments to go back to work, but only work part time. In short, she can only work part time due to emotional issues (she tried to commit suicide in February) and increasing stress but going on the dole is not an option due to financial commitments, so I was just wondering if there would be any support out there she could avail of, besides radically going on disability?
    Thanks
