Are you covered by your insurance for breakdowns?

i think so i have fully comp

but wanna quick fix if possible, im with quinn direct, as far as im aware they're a nightmare to deal with in such a situation

Quinn Direct provide breakdown cover. You're not claiming on your insurance in the process so their difficulties in dealing with for claims are irrelevant - the breakdown cover is free with the policy.

Also, a 2007 Fiat will still have top of the line AA cover free until 2011 or 2012 depending on the specific deal the car was sold under; but if you've not bothered getting Fiat to get it in to your name it may be hard to convince the AA to call out. Get on to Fiat Ireland to get the membership sorted though.

Either way, what exactly isn't working? Presumably its not starting - but is it even turning over? Do any of the lights work etc? The little square-ish batteries smaller Fiat engines use seem to be prone to letting the terminals come loose so if nothing at all is happening I'd pop the bonnet and check that first.

i didnt buy it new but i did buy it from fiat so have no idea about the AA cover,

its not turnin at all, iv checked all fuses they are fine, thought the ignition fuse went but not,

all lights are working inside and out, and radio is workin too tried different keys so they aint the problem, battery is fine i have that checked, even tried to jump it from my mates bmw,

if it makes any difference the cig lighter went over xmas and the heaters went on trursday last week
(typical fiat electronics is wat im thinking)

More than likely the electrics mate, seems fiat are still letting us down!

i dont want to be the bearer of bad news but it might be your ECU , its an internal computer component kinda like the cars brain , 06 07 puntos are notorious for giving ECU problems, if you got 5 year warranty you should be fine other wise im afraid its between 600 to 750 euros,
    i hope its something simple,

the car wont start , i can be 99% sure its not the immobility unit as they rarely give trouble.

im not just scare mungering here i do know what im talking about.just hope its a connection loose or something , an analysis check at your local garage can tell . around 30 euro there abouts.

Could be something simple that the key and the immb have lost there frequenzy, it's too hard to hazard to be honest it needs to be plugged into a computer

so the starter is turning over no problem and it's just not catching?

have you tried any spare keys?

I believe an 07 Punto would have a 4 year warranty at the very least, the "4+" came in across the line around then. My '07 built Panda has it anyway. Check the back window for a 4+ sticker.

It could be any number of problems, starter motor through to ECU failure. Get it towed to a Fiat dealer / warranty centre (here has a full list, Fiat seem to lose and add dealers on a weekly basis recently so take a check who's closest).

As MYOB said, the car is probably still under warranty (assuming it has a FSH).
