Hi at present have an Old Sky box and a ftv card was thinking of getting something like a humax to record programmes I would like to record programmes of fiver and five usa now and again, is it possible, is there a slot in the humax to fit a ftv card.

    Thanks

I'm open to correction, but I don't think it's possible at present.

the Humax Foxsat HDR does have a CI slot for a CAM, but dunno if it actually supports CAM's yet? Or if it'll support a multicrypt CAM fit to decode Sky cards.

A Diablo CAM should work with a white FTV card. A Dragon CAM will only work with the older blue cards which will probably expire soon.

    Interesting.

Only thing to note is, you'll need to keep your Sky box, for the card's "keep-alive" signal every month or so.

There was no specific mention of the fiver/fiveUSA channels, but if C4HD works, I'd expect the same from those two.

Could the card be put into any sky box or is it paired to a specific box

Get yourself a Mvision 300 combo and a FTV card. Latest software allows a FTV card (White) to be used in the card reader built in. Plug in a external hard drive and away you go.

You'll be able to arrange your channel list how you want it, and if you have a UHF aerial you'll be able to get the Irish DTT test channels as well.

There is a lot of HD stuff on Ch4 HD (Skins, Shameless, The good wife, Dispatches etc) A lot of their programming is upscaled, but fantastic pic quality.

Keep your sky box to watch a channel while your recording and also to keep your FTV card alive.
