12-16 weeks on crutches - what can I do?

    Hey all

Fractured my medial tibial plateau whilst skiing two weeks ago and looks like I will be on crutches for 12 odd weeks.

I run for exercise (had signed up for Belfast marathon in May which clearly won't be happening) and now need to supplement something else as best I can.

Stuck in the house for probably another month as I cannot drive to even get to a gym.

Left leg is 100% extended with 0% flexion allowed so movement pretty limited to be honest.

Open to all and any suggestions as to what I can actually do to manage my already expanding gut!

    Cheers all

PS have already ruled out removing alcohol from my diet as a completely unachievable objective!

Sorry to hear about your injury.

I spent 3 summers on cruthes years back and I just did upper body weights and ab work when i was used to going on the crutches. My friends / family dropped me to the gym.

Some gyms have an upper body exercise bike - they're not great but better than nothing.

Contact your gym to 'freeze' your membership anyway for the next month so you dont waste your money.
