    All,

I have set up a charity and formed a team of engineers that will be traveling to Haiti shortly to build a number of point-2-point wifi networks in order to bring internet access & voip services to schools, hospitals and municipal buildings.
While we have 20+ volunteers at this point I am still looking for more as the plan is to have people on the ground for 6 months (team changeovers every 2 weeks). We will also be training local people to maintain and extend the network.
Full details can be found on our website: http://haiti-connect.org/

Just putting a post here to see if there are any Irish wifi-techies willing to volunteer their time & knowledge to this project. If so please email us on the address listed on the website.

    Thanks, E.

Tech podcast 274 might be of interest to you here as it deals with volunteers mapping the area (in the total absence of maps for volunteers when they arrived)
