    Hi everyone...

I apologise if this has already been discussed..just dying to hear from other girls whether or not rogaine has worked for them.

I'm a 26yr old female and started noticing my hair getting extremely thin last five years..its very visable on top of my head had to change my parting..very bad when wet.

To cut along story short after trying numerous things and spending alot of money i went to a dermatologist last year who took a biopsy and confirmed that i have female pattern baldness. Advised me to make an appointment with Dr Maurice Collins in Blackrock Clinic (who featured on late late show last year).

Waited for months to see Dr Collins and finally had an appointment 2weeks ago. He confirmed the female pattern baldness too. He has now recommended that i take rogaine extra strength foam with 5% minioxil. Only started using it this week..have to introduce it slowly as he said shedding can occur at the start. i then have to apply it once a day (although it says on the website and box twice a day..dr collins stated anyone with job its very unrealistic to be able to do it twice a day) plus i work shift work and its impossible (hairloss was happening even when i had normal 9-5hrs)

Wondering has any gals/guys experienced good/bad things and also what is your thoughts on Dr Collins??

I spent €250 to see him for 15mins and have to go back in 6mths. he took photos of my hair to see any progress and showed me photos of a women who had success with it.

By the way my bloods and everything seem normal..think i have healthy diet was taking fish capsules now bottle cod liver oil etc. he told me that all those commerical hair vitamins DO NOT WORK like nourkrin (i spent lots of money on them found them to be usless) there just scams to get money of us desperate gals (dermatologist told me too)

    Sorry for rant..appreciate any replies.

I knew a guy on it that had good results and it actually grew his hair back, which was impressive I have to say. Though took a good while, wasnt over night, but was defo noticeable. He was thinning all over, which I gathered from him it works better for anyway. I think he may have been taking other medication too though?

A woman mate of mine had your condition and from what I recall she told me women get the all over thinning more than the receding hairline, single bald spot thing that men generally get. She had a pretty crappy diet and she changed that radically too and she claimed it made a big difference, but since she was also using the regaine stuff hard to tell.

Actually Ive known a few women with this or hairloss in general. doesnt seem to be talked about much.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
