Fair quote for service?

Just wondering am I getting a decent deal on a quote for service on a 03 Honda Jazz. It's from a Honda dealer and thought I'd go with them as they'd be familiar with honda jazzes.

Interim service (doesn't include coolant change which is 40 extra)= 160euro.
They seem to think that in most cases of a creaky clutch the cyclinder needs to be replaced and if so.. c. 180 for the actual cyclinder and 100 for labour.
I did say to them that I had been told by someone that is could also be a dry pivot in the gearbox (I had a thread on this specific problem here).

Do ye think I could do better price wise over all (esp. in scenario where the clutch does need a new cyclinder as that is the biggest cost).

Also I am in Galway region! Bit more limited than if I had been in Dublin.

€160 from a main dealer sounds fair, not sure on the creaky clutch as to what level of work is involved in a fix for that.

I wouldnt be going to a main dealer for standard service work on that car. What are you getting for your €160? Oil & filter plus checks or is it oil, filter, air filter, plugs & plus checks? If you only need oil & filter get a local garage to do it.

€160 is more than likely just oil filter and checking levels. Lots of places doing that for €100. Not bad for main dealer service though.

    Try an independent garage.

Had my vento serviced today for in around e200, that included Air, Oil, Diesal, Pollen filters, new oil, seal and checks. Have full history with her so thought worth the extra money to keep it going. Thought it want a bad price!

    Hi
Just bought a honda jazz 02 and didn't notice the creaky clutch until after I got it home. It's being returned to the garage today for them to take a look. Is this a problem with the older Jazz model? And is it serious?
It is very annoying and disappointing as I thought the Jazz was a good buy. It has low milage and looks in good condition otherwise.
