I want to get a steelhead driver and that seems to be the only place to get one, have trawled the net, ebay loads of different shops but to no avail, the only thing i am worried about is when you pay for the club and postage do you have to pay anything else when it arrives in ireland i.e duty or vat or anything.

I dont know a whole lot about them but i know people who have bought stuff off the site and the postage/clubs etc all perfect but you have to pay duty on the clubs that brings the price up a good bit.

If I remember correctly Callaway should sell you the club with no tax added then you will pay import duty on the cost of the product and the shipping. I think import duty is at least vat plus some extra, but saying that you are buying preowned and I think that second hand things are different tax levels, what spec is the club you want?

Try here, I don't know if they have the one you're looking for but this is a general search for steelhead.

Very good to deal with and shipping is ok too.

This is a class club I must say. We had a few of them in our house - 3 wood was beautiful too. Didn't fancy the original Steelhead, and don't remember the Steelhead II but the III model was a very neat stick.

Remember there being a problem with the earlier models, one of my mates had two faces that caved in on him. Upgraded for free though!

Yeah I think that was the first one. I never did get why they named the club after a fish though :p

I bought a few clubs from them over the years. Found them excellent in every way and the clubs were always a fraction better than described by them. As far as I know, Callaway own and operate the site. You will be caught for duty, etc. though.

I found this on www.clothing.ie I think it applies to items such as golf equipment etc. also.

    1) Customs Duty. - Customs duty is calculated by Customs on the TOTAL cost of the clothing. They add together the purchase price, + any insurance, + freight costs. On this total figure they charge Customs duties of 12%.
Duty on footwear depends on the material the footwear is made of. It's usually between 9% and 15%
    2) V.A.T. - After adding the customs duty to the total cost of the clothing, they then add V.A.T.@ 21% on the after Customs duty figure..

An Example of how this might work out: - A wonderful Ball Gown costs $150 from Sydney's Closet. You choose insurance at $15 and there is a $35 airmail freight charge. Total cost for Customs Duties purposes is $200. Customs duty will be $24 - 12% of cost, making $224.
    V.A.T. is now charged by Customs on the $224 @ 21% = $47.04.
The extra charges in total are $24 + $47.04 = $71.04, which is then changed to Euro at the central exchange rate of the day. In many cases the delivery company used will ask for payment of the customs duties before releasing the clothing to you.

i know this thread is old but i just bought off them so i thought id give my 2 cents. they had a black friday sale and it was so good i ended up buyin a complete new set. the sales were, buy set of irons over $400 and get any free driver u want, buy a fairway wood/hybrid get one free, 40% off all putters and wedges. i know at the moment they have a different 2 deals/sales every 2 says until christmas.
for a set of irons, driver, two 3woods, 2 hybrids, 2 putters and a wedge, postage was 70 dollars. ordered on sunday lunch time, arrived wednesday evening.....ye that quick all the way from Texas.
you have to pay 21% for VAT of whatever it cost you including delivery(23% now actually i think?) and 2.7% of whatever it cost you including delivery for duty. also you have to pay a handeling fee to the courier(something to do with it costing the courier to give the vat and duty to the gov so they pass on the cost to you) and that was 14 euro for me but it can range slightly(i heard between 5 and 15 i think)
i saved about 400-500 i think compared to golfbidder. clubs were in as described condition or better. one thing to note is that you dont get the original head covers. they give you a generic callaway one which does the job but is a bit plain looking. apart from that iv no complaints at all. id definitely recommend checking them out and you could end up saving a bunch if you get stuff when they have a sale on. i think they have sales/deals quite regularly so keep an eye on them

Callawaypreowned are giving $125 off when you spend $500 at the moment. My plan is to get them delivered free to a friend in the states and then get them to forward them via USPS. Anyone know how much it costs to send a set of irons from the states to Ireland with USPS?
