Im doing a small experiment to see if I can get a solar panel to charge an iPod. I have a 6volt solar cell. I have been looking on the internet but have no idea how to make the power go through to the charger! I have seen an invertor mentioned, is that required?

well you would not need to invert it as its a dc supply you have and a dc supply you want, what type of input voltage does the ipod charger usually give out?

Well you can charge it at 5 volts through a USB socket. It takes 12 volts from a socket.
