Hi all, I hope you guys can help me here.

Im trying to get fit, well fitter anyway, Im 23, currently weigh in at about 84kg, Im 6ft 1, I dont eat too badly but dont eat the best either. I go the gym 3-4 days a week a do bits of cardio, few light weights and ab work. Theres no real structure to it. thats a prob I know. I did alot of gym work before and was really toned before I got kicked back

The prob is im limited to what I can do, Iv only recently in the last yr had open heart surgery, and had one as a child too, so I cant be lifting massive weights either, Hospitals says im fine to do very light weights (up to 10kg) but no weight exercises that go over the head, they do encourage cardio though and say I can do as much as I want.

Like most guys in their 20s I wanna be in decent shape, now Im not sayin im outta shape, in fact im prob in better shape then most I know but I wanna get more toned and get fitter. Since the op iv done cardiac rehab but I still wake up with creeks, pains in my joints/chest and I still feel unfit I guess.

I go to my gym instructors but they only try offer programmes that include some sort of lifting heavy weights, there only young guys, prob unexpierced, so Id feel its pointless going to them asking for advice. Iv thought about a Personal Trainer but im lackin cash for one of them

I went to my gp asking for advice and he said "just continue what ur doing" but im sick of going the gym and having no real purpose.

So baically im looking for a programme that would be unique to myself, Id like to be able to increase my general fitness, and also a programme that can help with general stretching of the body. As I was in bed for a good while and just going around the house, my muscles just deteriorated.

Any help at all would be very grateful.

    thanks:)

Sorry but nobody here can give you advice for exercise following your recent open heart surgery. Please speak with a medical professional.

    Good luck.
