i have a gigabyte ud5 and its awesome. ud3 is the same as the ud5, except with a pcie x4 as a 2nd slot instead of a pcie x16.

basically unless you wanna go multi GPU, the ud3 is the perfect board for you.

If you can push your budget a little further get this:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=494704

Its without a doubt the best motherboard money can buy for the 1156 socket.

If you cant push to that get this:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=487822

I've never been a fan of Gigabyte boards, they always seems to break.

agreed, the Asus Maximus is the best around apparently

but i also dont like asus AND msi for the reason anti doesnt like Gigabyte :pac:

I have this motherboard. Its got tons of features for overcloking and has been solid as a rock for me. Got my i5-750 up to 4Ghz no problem. Thats just my experience, I can't compare it to any of the other motherboards mentioned

Guru 3D has a review on the 3 of them

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigabyte-p55-ud5-review-test/1

    http://www.guru3d.com/article/asus-maximus-iii-gene-review-test/1

The Asus mobo JUST pips the other two. But generally speaking, you wont notice much of a difference in performance between the three. They all perform exceptional, with the Asus mobo having better overclocking capibilities, the MSI having great multi GPU setup, and the Gigabyte has good power saving hardware while still performing on par with the other two

anyways back on topic, OP the two best P55 motherboards at your price range are:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=486110
    and
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=487822

Asus one looks sexier, both perform the same.

Eurgh thats the GENE II. DO NOT WANT, DO NOT WANT !!!

Realistically speaking, unless you plan to overclock the bejasus out of it, the cheapest board will probably do you.

Should work no problem bud, the voltage needed is a bit high but i cant see the problem. Especially as they list the exact same ram but the 1gb kit as compatible.

Yeah stay away for intel boards, i mean the intel branded ones. They are complete muck. We sell a few of them where i work and im constantly trying to get the company to dump them as we get so many back.
