I got my new tooth today

I got my crown fitted today after having my implant fitted in September. A periodontist fitted the implant and my dentist fitted the crown. I went to a lab to have the colour matched for my tooth and went twice to make sure it was right.

It's so fantastic to smile and see two front teeth the same colour instead of one discoloured one, not to have a mouthful of plastic and not having to worry about what I would do if something went wrong with my tooth while I was abroad.

I have gum disease so my implant was more complicated than usual. After the implant was fitted I visited the clinic four times for a checkup. I visted my dentist three times to have the crown made and the lab twice for a colour check.

Yes it's an expensive procedure and maybe it would've been cheaper up the North. If I'd gone up north I would've had to taken leave for each visit so that's at least 4 or 5 days. The level of service I received from the dentist and periodontist was first rate and each of my visits probably took about 2 hours. I also had the reassurance of knowing if anything went wrong I would be treated that day without delay. Now that the crown is fitted I still have that reassurance.

So I'm going to buck the trend and say I'm delighted with my new tooth fitted here in ROI. Now if the government hadn't changed the tax relief rules it would be perfect, GGRRR

Good news How Strange, i'm on the road to an impant at the moment and currently have a retainer with a false tooth as I had some braces on too.

Once the process is complete i'll post up my own journey with pics :)
