I am applying to go back to college this year where i need work experience once a week. I sent my cv off to loads of places back in october hoping that i could get something full time before i start the course but that didn't happen.

So, hoping i get a place on the course, i have 7months to sort myself out. I am actually willing to go voluntary once a week for the course.

But how do i go about getting something? Sending off my cv didn't work. Should i ring? I should have the college interview in may. Should i book a couple of days off and go job hunting while i'm at it and call in person.

Any tips how i can make myself look great? I have a great reference letter, should i include it?

    Anything?

What course and industry are you in?

Are you on Job seekers benefit?

I'm not on job seekers benefit. I am working but changing careers. Hoping to get into veterinary nursing. Its the only thing i ever wanted.

Then offer to volunteer in a dog rescue. That way you get experience in being around animals, without requiring anyone to pay you. Stay in your current job, and volunteer outside your work hours.

Oh, i already do volunteer at a dog's shelter. Its just one of these jobs where places are hard to come by, so not sure how much more i would have to do to make myself look good.

When and how i should be going about it? In person? Ring them? Send off letters and cv again?

I would take the trip to the actual place. If you're volunteering, they're more likely to understand your enthusiasm if you appear in peron.

    You're welcome in advance.:pac:

Thanks for that. Will try to book a few days off and call around in person.
