Is it me, or is that yoke pig ugly? Think I'd go for the HDD upgrade first.

It's probably the shiny "piano black" that makes it fugly.

I did upgrade my own HD box with a 500GB Samsung HDD, giving ample storage for my needs. For HDD's over 500GB you need a special program to make your HD box address the whole drive (SkyCopyPlus if I recall).

Its not the worst box I've ever seen.

Its only available in the UK at the moment I think with a price tag of 285 Euro, excluding install and special offers.

The old one is ugly too!
All my shiny stuff is covered in fingerprints and dust :(

Why not pick up a 1Tb HDD for 60 odd quid off komplett and DIY?!
Only takes 40-60 mins to copy the old drive to the new one using Copy+

Saw one of the new boxes the other day it wasn't shiny like the picture but was a lot more compact than the existing HD boxes. They have 1.5Tb hard drive 500Gb for Sky anytime etc and 1Tb for your own use. Sky is in the process of discontinuing Sky+ and you will only be able to get Sky+HD in the near future.

Ugly box. They should have gotten rid of the curved front.

i love the curves nothing worse than boring straight lines

Also having the main controls on top of the box is a pain if you're working on your AV connections and need to quickly hit the power button.
I have other equipment stacked on top (PS3 cant really go underneath it due to other short-sighted design choices.. thanks Sony)

Also detest the rotating LEDs indicator during Playback / Instant Replay. Can't be disabled in the new EPG until they release a bug fix :(
Darkened front room looks like a scene from Close Encounters when it lights up!

Ah, I see. So it's still only available in the UK, yes?

Does anyone have any info on when we'll be getting it in Ireland?

nobody does. best reference the circumstances under which it seems to apply ok!

n under em, they can hang onto it. the longer, the more intriguing as its been out a fair few months now

Kotek its probs directed at my own obfuscation, sorry for being confusing ok ;-

that link is the only utterance i've seen w/ regards to the ROI market so you might wanna mail the guy n ask him to update you on whats happening with his order.. Sky may have 'made a mistake' or failed to just say no where there was a profit to be had. they seem reluctant complete their side of the transaction maybe they'll refund the guy. or maybe they won't! or maybe the shipment is en route.. eventually
