AirLine Mogul World created, just for boards people

Duplicating post in case people don't read the Facebook thread anymore.

World name is : Boards World
Password is available via pm :-)

World becomes active in 24hours
I've set the world to begin at 1970, 3 starting aircraft (let 410 regional turbo props)
We have full world, with up to 16 hubs, with 4 of them being outside your home continent. remember, if u pick a continent at the start, that's it for the game, unless u request a reset and restart.

One of the nice things about this game, is that you can setup routes and let them fly, there's not as much interaction needed, like clicking on start routes, etc. There's even a holiday mode, so your airline will basically freeze while you are away.

may even be an Irish connection, the developers name is a very Irish sound Murphy.

the founder of that website is indeed an irish man, and it wouldn't suprise me if he was lurking around boards someplace, he was on vateir when I used to be. The Boards.ie world is a good idea, OP you have pm!

I can arrange for an official broker to be appointed to the world to help with the flow of aircraft if you all would be interested?

Just bumping here.

Really fun game, people should sign up to it! Its got a lot more depth than Airline Manager on facebook...

I think the in-game message board is cutting back on the number of posts on this thread. An aircraft broker was recently appointed to the world, and they are now offering aircraft for sale and lease as well as taking custom orders.

I'm the broker for this world.

If anyone needs a specific plane, I will see if I can purchase it and lease it out, Or purchase at a cheaper value and offer at discounted rates (multiple purchases, will allow you avail of discounts)

Its hard to know, its quite a small world. By forming alliances you would be sort of reducing the competition drastically...

That said, I wouldnt mind an alliance with Biffo to get a foothold in Asia! But by doing so he would be helping his competitor, why would he do that?

Am I missing something important on Alliances?

You just need to purchase one gate at any alliance members hub, then you can start a max 25 routes from the HUB

It's a bit steep to create the initial alliance and then members have to pay a joining fee.

Alliances are due for a significant overhaul in their functionality/features. They have some limited benefits and are primarily used to create smaller communities within each game. One of the official brokers setup an alliance today in a public world to allow its members benefit from cheap aircraft (Up to 8% off) which is an interesting idea.

Alliances are useful where theres a restriction on the number of hubs an airline can have, where outside of your base continent a hub counts as 2. I've set the limit on hubs as 16, which is very high compared to some other worlds, as I didn't think we'd have enough players to form viable alliances.

I'm based in Asia, primarily cos I knew most of ye would for for Europe and Dublin/London as base hubs. By moving east, I get a chance to build up some decent daily profit before I head to confront ye head on :-)

There's no reason why any airline here couldn't have a hub in Europe, Asia, North America, Oceania, which kinda negates the biggest benefit of sharing hubs via an Alliance.

I want to take ye all on :-D

All you need to do is, buy 4 gates at an airport in Asia, then as long as you have enough cash, you can create a foreign focus city (HUB).
