Im building a two storey house at the moment,we are putting under floor heating upstairs and downstairs in the house. The plumber has installed the underfloor heating downstairs already, but we are finding it impossible to contact him to to the upstairs. He is not answering the phone.Just wondering is it possible to get a different plumber to finish the house. We have already paid him for half of the underfloor heating.Would it be very hard to get another plumber to finish the job.

    Few questions.
    • Is he registered?
    • Was he recommended to you?
    • Has he certified and commissioned the system for you?
If the answer is yes to all three there may be a legitimate reason why he's not responding - mobile phone stolen perhaps.
Write or call around before writing him off.

    ONQ.

He is registered and was recommended. He arranged a meeting for last Saturday with the heat engineer and myself and never showed up,phone ringing out the whole time.I might give him until Wednesday.

Yes it would be difficult to get another plumber to come in now, and if problems arise, then you know what will happen.
Keep ringing him, leave voicemail. If he appears not to have voicemail, then use the 5 before the number trick.
Call around to his house, and put a letter in his door, follow up with a fax.

The nail that protrudes the most will be the first to be hammered down :-)
