    Hi All,

Thank you for taking part in the 2010 Swim, Bike, Run Challenge. Lots of hard work going into all of your sessions. Race season approaching so best of luck to you all and keep posting your sessions on the challenge. Anyone lurking, feel free to join in.. 'tis only a bit of fun :)

So here is the summary of January.

Average swimming mts : 13,748mts (13.8% of green target)
Average cycling kms: 185km (9.3% of green target)
Average running kms: 103km (10.3% of green target)

It seems that the weather played havoc with cycling session and people hit the pool or braved the footpaths for a run instead. Perhaps the swim target is the softest or its just interested dragging the whole average up with his incredible swim stats!

The discipline leaders are all dominating by a considerable distance
Swimming : interested - a whopping 80.2% of the green target achieved already
Cycling : cunavalos - an almighty effort with over 1,200lms put down in just a month
Running: TFBubendorfer - almost halfway to the green target and seems to run more than most of us cycle

Although runaway discipline leaders, they are just 8th, 6th and 9th overall in the challenge (nothing wrong with that btw) thus pointing out the need to do well in all 3!

So what group are doing the best?
    1. The Half Ironman posse average 36.5pts :)
    2. The Ironmen lunatics average 48pts
    3. The Sprinters average 52.6pts
    4. The Olympic Distance mob average 59.5pts (c'mon guys n gals)
    5. The specialtists average 60.2pts
    6. The only Adventure Racer representing on 83pts (anymore ARs out there?)

How is the overall standing for the challenge?

    Cheers MCOS
The main thread is great, but that league table you posted today is even better!! - just given me a whole new shot of motivation :D

Must get out on bike, must get out on bike.

40K on the bike would have seen me sneak into the top 20:rolleyes:

I did no such thing, I kept my smugness under wraps, it was Interested who correctly guessed I was whooping and hollering over being ahead of you.

Anyways it seemed to have got you out of the bed these days which is no bad thing!

I guess someone had to volunteer to do those sessions since hunnymonster is otherwise.. ahem engaged:D

It would be interesting to know what little 'mini' personal challenges people have for themselves within the context of the overall challenge?? For me for example I'd love to hit the Green swim target before interested hits the Gold  Dunno if I can keep up the swim pace for February though, the running needs some attention....

1st in running, 6th in cycling, 25th in swimming.
Hmmm. I think there's a clue in there, somewhere ....

Thanks for all work on this. I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, but how are the scores worked out?

Thanks for all work on this. I'm sure this has been covered elsewhere, but how are the scores worked out?

How does the points sytem work?

Like this... as it TFBubendorfer's positions

Swimming - 25th on the table at the end of Jan = 25 points
Cycling - 5th on the table at the end of Jan = 5 points
Running - 1st on the table at the end of Jan = 1 point

Total = all 3 added together for 31 points

So who wins the challenge then?

Obviously the higher up in all 3 the lower your overall score and the further up the challenge you will be overall. This was the whole point of the challenge. I doubt anyone is going to catch any of the discipline leaders yet the overall challenge is still to play for.

What if I haven't posted a swim yet?

You get the equivalent points of the last person who posted a swim +1
So for example if there are 35 people in the swim section but only 30 have posted any swims (hence 5 people with 0mts including you) then those 5 people score 30 + 1.

    Hope this helps.
