Old neglected piano stool, worth restoring?

It’s lost the foot of the leg due to wood worm, don’t think there’s any woodworm in it now but it’s been damaged at the front. Other than that a good clean and tlc and it would be fine.
My question is is it worth bothering to restore,or better off sold on the cheap or chucked away?
Not sure of the age but it’s been around here for 20 years at least.

Any opinions welcome, just seems a shame to chop it up for firewood.

    Hope the pic. works.

I suspect that it won't take much chopping judging by the woodworm holes. I wouldn't think it is worth the time and effort restoring but your local auction room should be able to put you straight. Where are you and I will post details of your nearest salerooms? :)

North Tipp. Think there's an auction house somewhere in Durrow?

Yes , burn it if you have an open fireplace .

It is however made in about 1900 . Or give it to somebody that wants to practice restoration .

Its always worth checking these things out though !

Durrow is a high class venue and wouldn't welcome you - try Victor Mitchell near Roscrea. Victor is a very long time in the trade and holds regular auctions of similar stuff to your piano stool see here: http://www.victormitchell.com/
or Purcells' in Birr see link here: http://www.purcellauctioneers.ie/auctionmain.htm

In the meantime keep it outside in a shed in case the woodworm get hungry. :D

Poor piano stool was much more affected by wood worm than we first thought, it's gone to piano stool heaven in the sky.

Have inherited an old piano but this time I will look after it and have it restored, no woodworm etc. just needs some tlc.
