Hi all, starting roof soon, and will be starting the next phase in a month or so..

    where we are right now,

    foundation/walls/hollowcore/roof/windows/ext doors/sewage. . .all done. .

I am getting a list together of what needs to be done in order for us to take over and tile floor in kitchen, fit kitchen, capets/timber floor/paint..

to get from where we are now to that: heres what i have on the list

    Facia/Guttering
    Drainage/footpaths
    chasing
    plaster outside
    first fix
    sub-frames for all doors
    floor/wall/ceiling insulation
    plastering inside
    screed
    chipy work
    stove/boiler installation
    second fix

    is ther anything im missing?

You should pay attention to the following before second fix, you only get one chance to get them right or be plagued with problems for the next decade. Air tightness and vapour control, thermal bridge, ventilation, stove air supply and flue backdraft damper.

Just a trawl through some of the post completion issues raised on this forum, will highlight the above omissions and defects that selfbuilders generally don't give sufficient attention to during the build. (they give plenty of attention to these issues a couple of years down the line)
