The hard drive is gone, i say. You could get a new one in or get a Sky+ HD Box, with the €15 sub or not.

    cheers for the advice mate

might as well sell it then, but I dont have an idea how much I could get for a faulty pace 3100 box

Yeah - I'm having problems with my sky+ box too.
Basically I cannot record on one channel while watching a different one, if I try to do this, I get a message stating that no signal is being received and that I need to switch off power to the box at the wall for 1 minute.

The box does allow me to record off the channel that I am viewing, so I'm not sure if my hard drive is faulty....
I have tried a system reset but no joy....... does it mean that I need to buy a new box?

For Sky+ there is 2 cables at the back of the box: for viewing 1 channel and recording another channel at the same time.

If you can record I would guess the hard drive might be OK (I could be wrong).

Might be worth checking the 2 cables at the back. Unplug and reconnect.

(I am a novice when it comes to Sky stuff so maybe someone more experience might correct me.)

    Read the post, Paul.

OP: I have a SKY+ box with a 160GB HD in it - I'll sell it to you if you want. Perfect working order, upgraded to SKY HD in November, so it's just lying there. €50. PM me if interested. Based in D13.

    Forest Master,

Maybe I marked my post incorrectly - I was replying to the previous post by 187845. I was answering 187845's post as the OP had given up on his sky box. 187845 hard drive might still be OK if he can record from one channel.

I had this problem, it turned out there was a break in the cable outside.
try the second feed in the first connection at back of sky box- that will confirm if it is the box or if you have a problem with or the feed coming in.
