Boxingscene? I seen on eastside that an agreement has been reached but nothing signed. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=22642&more=1
Interesting rematch clause, does it work both ways I wonder? Surley both men know that this is a p:pac:cman eliminator?

Is there a reason you censored Boxingtalk.com?

OP probably seen it on boxingscene which censored it out. It would be like someone referring to pepsi on a coca cola forum. Probably bets not to mention it? At least thats what the people at *******.com make of it. :pac:

Listened to the interview as well. He's giving away tix to some of his twitter followers so if your on it sign up.Im not worried about it going ahead or not but it still hasn't been signed.

It now looks like the Mosley Mayweather bout is in trouble .

Golden boy's Dick Schaefer is worried :
"I am not having flashbacks to anything, but [the Mosley fight] is still not signed," Schaefer said. "I don't know what it means. Obviously, we can't move forward with the promotion, including some important activities that were planned for this coming weekend, unless we have a signed deal."
(Flashbacks refer to Maywaeather's agreed fight with Oscar , then Mayweather retires after the fight is set.)

"I always tell you, a signed deal is a done deal," Schaefer said. "It will only be done when Floyd signs, and that hasn't happened yet. I don't know of any deal terms that are not agreed to. I don't understand it."

Schaefer, asked if he was concerned that the Mosley-Mayweather fight might be in trouble? His answer was simply, "Yes."

"I read Leonard's quotes that it was agreed to and that it was just a matter of time to get it signed, but if it's all done, why isn't it signed?"

Is there any Mayweather fans here that have a possible reason why he wont signed up to the agreed terms ??

    Please speak up ....

My question to all the Mayweather doubters. If this fight does go ahead and Mayweather beats him fair and square what will you say then?

Are you going to say that Sugar Shane was over the hill. Or are you going to accept Mayweather as the greatest pound for pound fighter of all time?

How did you know it was me ?? cheeky bugger :D

    God , I'm that predicible ??

No excuses , although I'll never call Pbf "The Greatest" on his record .
Although , I do think Mayweather is super skilled .

Sometimes I feel the guys with the massive ego and continually "big" themselves up , are often a little more fragile in the mind than one would expect .

He's never been one to fight on fair 50/50 terms with the top fighters .
Some call it clever business , but aways at an expense of legacy .
As great as Mayweather is , it's business over legacy.

you mentioned who you were in the charity prediction comp thread;). i agree about Mayweather actually. As skilled as he is, there is an outstanding question mark against his accomplishments in the ring because of who he has avoided in his career. sure if he faces Mosley he'll go some way to altering that view but to date he can't be considered the best p4p when he hasn't fought any top welterweight. as you say he is terrified of the losing that 0 because his pay checks will not be quite as good as they were should he lose.

    Well , I agree .

Mayweather will be the guy who could have been the best p4p fighter , but never extended his ability that far .

He would have needed to consistently fought top fighters in their prime to achieve that legend.

All the excuses are there already , he continues to fight exposed , or under-weight , or over aged , or fighters that really struggle to make the specified weight etc .

I watched the Corrales fight the other day , and had totally forgot about Corrales was so uncomfortable losing enough weight in his previous fights..... but willing to make an exception and drop to the uncomfortable weight to fight Floyd .

Being such a top draw , Mayweather holds all the cards and eeks out clear advantages over every opponent before the first punch is thrown !!

Clever management , but one can never compare him to the champions of the 70's and 80's , when the best fought the best with the clear priority to be the best athlete .
Guys who were cut from a totally different cloth , who gave us thrilling encounters ..... guys who gave us fights that refuse to die with age .

    In 50 years time ,....
People wil be talking about Hagler , Foreman , Ali , Frazier , Sugar Ray Robinson , Reberto Duran , Thomas Hearns , Leornard and Mosley and many others , for their tremendous battles .
You wont be telling your grandkids about Mayweather vs Baldomir ;)

Now another day is gone and it's still not signed ........
The way was paved when Team Mayweather claimed to pause on the mosley fight , as they only stood to make 5 or 6 million .
Makes me wonder when they climed to make over $7.5 million on the Marquez bout

It dosent matter if he only makes $1million on this fight .... its a million more than sitting on your arsse fighting nobody .
Now can somebody tell him about the recession please :p

    EDIT : I just read this article - http://boxing.fanhouse.com/2010/02/03/the-fights-on-floyd-mayweather-has-signed-to-face-shane-mosley/

Mayweathers signed ! .... now he just needs to send the fax ....... LMAO happy-smiley-575.gif

Mayweather will beat Mosley and Mosley is my favourite fighter. I'll say my respect for Mayweather has increased for talking this fight, it won't be simple for him. Before I call him the greatest p4p fighter I want to see him fight pacquaio first. I fancy him to beat pacquaio but I won't give him the credit of being no 1 till he does cause pacquaio has surprised me a number of times in the past

You can put whatever spin you want on that statement, it doesn't ring any less true. Mosley is 38 years old, and past his peak. Sin é.

No, because greatness doesn't just equate with an unblemished record and skill. Ali and Frazier etc are greats because of their tenacity, their willingness to accept challenges head on and their hunger to continually fight the best. Mayweather could have been an all-time great but the fact is his legacy will be forever marred by the his persistance in refusing to take the big challenges when they presented himself. Instead of concocting excuses to duck his rivals he should have been bulling to fight them.

If he had no hesitation in fighting Mosley, Williams and Pacquiao; and ended up beating them then I would acknowledge him as a true great.

Unflortunately I suspect he'll be remembered as much for his vulgarity and unwillingness to fight the hard fights as much as he will be for his skill.
