Thought it was better then the pilot, i like the whole Zoe/Cylon thing and switching back and fourth from actress to machine.

Not much arc progression as yet, the ttle sequence is one of the best i've ever seen!, it's gonna be expensive though if they have to CGI that Cylon everytime we see Zoe, lots of effect shots....decent quality CGI, liked the whole stadium bit.

So far so good, i fancy the pants off that Zoe one!....something super slutty about her!

I'm captivated by this show already. I think its freaky. Caprica is so much like our world but different in so many ways. Its brilliant.

I keep forgetting the kid is Bill Adama which is strange.

Funny you mention the starting sequence - I found it Expensive, but not 'Good'. A little too dramatic even.

In a show that revolves around drama...oh NO!

I get the feeling BSG isn't one of your favourite shows from previous posts? :) Do you think you'll like Caprica any better?

In a show that revolves around drama...oh NO!

    Great first post!

I thought the opening credits were a bit showy, but good none the less. Different than BSG, but then this isn't BSG, so it should be different.

Interesting stuff with the teacher, and her extended family. I'm guessing she knows about what Zoe was working on, and wants it for herself (or her cause).

How long will it be before the parents find out that Zoe is in the robot, if at all? The way the mother has gone, believing Zoe blew up the train, I'd say Zoe is not going to show herself too willingly.

BSG just slowed down by the 3rd and 4th season. I loved it otherwise.

Caprica could be quite the opposite, building up instead of tearing down.

We have to remember that Robot Zoe is an avatar, so surely she would have no knowledge of her fella blowing up the train?? No? So who knows how she will react to that news.

I'm a BSG music fanatic but the use of the main theme in this episode was almost constant. The first bit is kinda over used already. I'm nit picking tho.

When is this 'premiering' on Sky?

Now i loved BSG, watched the whole series twice

I watched the pilot of Caprica and found it to be the biggest pile of dog shit i've seen in a long long time, some1 gonna convince me the actual series is better???

They went to great length to explain how she felt almost a physical connection to the real zoe when the bombing happened, and even showed the avatar covered in blood during one of the scenes. She definitely already knows.

Ahhhhhhhhhh yeah. My memory files must be corrupt. Haven't watched the pilot since it came out last year. I'll watch it on Wednesday on sky.

Well I can't really do that yet considering the first episode only aired yesterday! :) I did like that episode tho.

I don't really have an complaints per se about this show yet. But it's not exactly jumping out and becoming my favourite thing on TV yet either.
It is amazing that the little fella is Bill Adama.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,969 ✭✭✭robby^5

    Sam Adama is
gay right? I couldn't make out if he says he was flirting with some guy or if he says "girl" with an weird accent or something when he's walking with Bill.
Very cool character though I have to say, the whole Adama family are really interesting. I'd like to see less moping from Mrs Graystone and more of them, I'm not really liking her character or Zoe very much.

It's strange to think that this is Bill Adamas childhood, growing up with a mafioso uncle. Hoping we see a lot more of the mafia side of the Adama's

I rewatched the pilot yesterday as i hadn't seen it since it came out. Then I watched this episode.

I enjoyed it. It has definitely caught my attention and i'm curious as to what kind of show it will turn out like. There's something very fresh about it, and although its a bit slow moving, i really have no idea what to expect but i'm dying to find out how the show will go.

As for the opening sequence, i didn't really like it too much. A little bit over the top for my tastes. The part that sticks in my mind if Joseph Adama kneeling to pray on the grave.

Still, i'm very happy there's a weekly sci fi fix to look forward to.

Sam Adama needs his own spinoff show...

The blowing, flowing, slow motion hair from a girl reaching out that just says "I need to Fabio! Help me! Help me!"

I thought that WAS he best part pf the intro sequence!....that Magda one, sexy beast!.....if yer a Kyle XY fan you'll know her well!!

I watched both yesterday, pilot and first (2nd) episode.
While I enjoyed it I was a bit put off by the stupidity of some of it. Examples: Caprica flag looked very like the American flag, the bomber just happens to look middle eastern, the evil den of iniquity that is Caprica before the fall and possibly worst of all when Zoe's ma was handed the symbol of infinity they decide to really drive the point home, gawd forbid we be forced to put 2 and 2 together ourselves

But other than that, I quite enjoyed it ;)

Did anyone else feel that absolutely nothing happened in this episode that we either didn't already know ar could easily realise for ourselves?

Loved BSG and although finding it very hard not to compare Caprica to it, I am enjoying this. Pity the narrative arc has not really emerged as of yet.

I personally, don't have a problem with nothing much happening cause I really think its better to build something up than peak too early. But I can see why people get frustrated. I would love to just not watch it and then watch the whole season at once. Don't have the will power for it tho. :(

Just finished watching the 2 part season opener and I have to say, it hasn't grabbed me at all.. I was struggling to stick with it a lot of the time.

It's not that there's no "splosions" and such, but none of the characters have grabbed me, it was VERY "talky" and frankly dull, and it's so far removed from BSG (which itself was a big jump from the original 70's version) that aside from the prototype Centurion and the Adama name, there's nothing familiar about it.

I'd say this will struggle to make it to a 2nd season if this start is anything to go on... pity cause I was hoping for better, and yes I know it might well get better as it goes on, but a pilot should engage the audience enough to make them want to see what happens next week, and I'm not sure I'll bother to be honest.

I didn't think this episode was half bad. Esai Morales and Eric Stoltz are excellent leads - but the show does need a spark to really get it going.

They could do with dropping Sam's character though. His storyline with William is just plain dull.

Well until this turns into the first Cylon War and involves the 5, yeah its going to be a little boring.

I enjoy it. Its already answering a lot of questions about BSG and the cylon race.

It was very good. Exactly how Zoe is going to make all the other Cylons feel like her in the future will be very interesting - regarding a one true god I mean.

Maybe she will simply lead the revolt?

Despite everything she is still a computer program at heart and at some stage obviously will turn against humans in my mind.

Tauron crime is a nice side-story.

The first two episodes had nothing on BSG..the effects could be better..I havent watched the third episode so im hoping they improve because the first two were made before the show was greenlit..

It's good so far im going to keep watching..

I am not a BSG fan. Never even seen an episode, but I am really enjoying Caprica. There is definitely something human and relatable about all the characters and I am interested to see how it turns out... Even if the opening credits are a load of crap! haha!

Watched it on Sky last night. Enjoyed - liked the way it's filling out the details and background. Felt the Centurion CGI was done well, considering it's done on a TV show's budget.
Other little tidbits that caught my attention included Graystone (Stolz) playing Nomion's 3rd Sonata on the piano, while the teacher's extended family reminded quite a bit of Mannie's family from Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

Looking forward to the next episode.

good catch Niska, I didnt notive that Sonata bit. I will have to rewatch it.
Yea, I really like all the centurion CG bits. Really well done, better than BSG.

I really like this so far, its very slow moving, like a soap opera. It has the hour long format, with the two or three families and not alot happens. Typical Sons and Daughters soap opera or something.

you guys not think its cool to see what looks like the orginal cylons from the first series (1970's that is) and even the voices are the same, i was drooling when i watch first three esp.

it will be interesting to see were this series goes.

I thought the Pilot was very good TV, wasn't as impressed by the second episode but they're building the storyline foundation for a whole new series so I'm sure it will get better with each episode as it progresses toward the finale.
