UPC Smart Card Error

    I got a UPC digital box installed today. When the technician left when there was a error message on screen saying to "......insert correct smartcard". He said it would go away within one hour, 4 hours later and error message is still there. I rang the UPC but they were no help and said they would have to send someone out. Did anyone else have this problem? Annoying having to wait till next week to get thing set up.

    Same thing happened to me yesterday. Press the menu button.
    I rang them and she took the number off the back of my card told me to press the menu button and it just came on.

    Happened to me in the summer getting a new digital+ box.

    I called 3 times, each time I was asked to read out the numbers on the card and the box, each time I was told they were correct and they'd get someone else to call me back, no one ever did.

    I called a forth time and was asked for the numbers again, this time I said no and I asked the person on the other end to read the numbers to me, magically 4 figures into the first number there was a mistake, it was fixed and I had my channels immediately.

    Next time you call, get them to read out the numbers to you, they don't care enough to listen properly when you read them out!

    That could well be it yet there plan is to send someone out again, what a waste of more of my time. Very annoying. The guy who was here could not give a **** and woman on phone was no better, fully of appologies (just because call was recorded)
