Thanks guys for tips...Will check both out...Need to find caterers...Have people that have done this before had buffets and if so is it awkward or disorganised as regards seating etc...methinks there are more complications doing a marquee but would like something different to the norm...:)

i guess make sure your insurance covers the marquee. Parking is another issue. Ive decided to buy my own marquee off ebay from a german company it is cheaper than renting one.
I like you am doing a buffet, ive decided just to make some dishes and ask some relatives friends to make some finger food for later on in the evening.I would ideally love a bbq but getting someone to take responsibility of it etc and the weather is a hit or miss scenario.

I have been abit of research for my weddings. Hireall marquees offer an all inclusive pacakge of marquee, furniture, cater equipment at what appears to be competitive prices. They are having a Wedding Marquee Open on Sunday 28th Feb at their premise in sandyford to view marquees and interirors www.hireall.ie also northeast marquees offer a all inclusive pacakge.

I'm having a marquee wedding for 300 guests in a couple of months, the full works. I didn't find hireall at all competitively priced! An inclusive package would be so much easier than sourcing everything seperately though! I have everything sourced seperately which gave good bargaining power and great choice. It's a lot of work but it's really personal and I thing *hope* it will be worth it all!

We have booked our Marquee through Pavilion - www.pavilionmarquees.com - they are based in Galway and Dublin and seem to be really helpful.Just check with the Marquee crowd that you are getting a quote for every thing you need as some of them only quote for the basics and then keep adding things onto the price - like electrics, dance floor, carpet etc.

Just saw this on the home page, said I'd drop in to see, and maybe add a tuppence to anyone planning a weddng in a marquee in the garden. It's a great idea, someting unique yet practical. One word of warning I'd give is to provide enough seating for the guests. It sounds obvious but it's not always done due to space restrictions. Last one I was at many had to stand for the entire duration of speechs and it's no joke. Pregnant women sitting on cushions etc. Hire a heap of garden chairs or something, then after the formalities the dance floor can be cleared for the grooving!! Good luck with it OP.

Hi, can you give an indication of all inclusive costs for a marquee (for about 100 people)?

AmandaMc - It's impossible to put a figure on it for all inclusive. Depends on:
Do you want the interior extras i.e linings, pelmets, carpet
Will you require hire of toilets and if so portaloo/luxury unit
Will you require a seperate bar area and a catering tent as extra
    Buffet or sit down meal
What generator requirements - music, lighting, PA system
What furniture do you require and do you want co ordinated tablecloths, led lighting, chair covers, centrepieces
Would you be including a free bar or a cash bar - with a cash bar you require a licence for the day
Would there be a venue fee for the marquee site

I am planning to go with hireall all inclusive package of marquee, catering equipment and furniture. I choose their soft wall marquee which looks nice and is more cost effective than the more standard hard wall.you also dont need lining which saves money. they will be showing it at their marqueewedding fair on sunday 28th feb at their premises in sandyford so will make final decision there. having about 140 people and estimate spend of about 10k for marquee, catering equip, tableware, tables, chairs etc

I think it would cost all in for marquee + cateringware + furniture about €7k. see my previous post i am hoping to get all inclusive marquee package with hireall for €10k for about 140 people. hard wall marquee would be more expensive.
