New Customer Self Install

Hey just wondering if Sky do any kind of self install option?

My parents already have a better dish than the crappy Sky mini one. They've seen some of the poor cabling jobs that Sky installers have done so they've asked me to look into doing it for them.

Their looking to get Multiroom, so 3 boxes in all likelihood. If I could pick 3 HD boxes up second hand and fit a new Octo lnb is there any way Sky would allow this?

Is it as simple as asking for the cards and ringing back once they come to get them activated???

I've only ever heard of sky issuing existing customers cards for additional second-hand boxes, never new cards for a new customer who wishes to go down your route, although I may be wrong..

There's a few Sky installers on here, they mightn't take too kindly to being all tarred with that brush.
Just a tip, not trying to be condescending.:)

Not trying to be condescending at all! I'm sure that the likes of the independent installers who come on here all know their stuff and do a good job. Unfortunately you don't get to pick who Sky send out!

Yes, they would allow this no problem, why would'nt they, you're willing to pay a sub with multiroom and they have no boxes to supply or installation to organise, they'll be saying why are'nt they all like this!!
I done something similar with my own set up. Just make sure you have a working telephone line connected to each box at all times. You can install and pair the cards to the boxes without the need to ring sky when you receive them through the hidden installer menu.

Brilliant I'll let them know. I'll source the boxes and have the wiring ready before I contact Sky
