Hi, me and the girlfriend are heading off for ten days on june, both of us early twenties. Has anyone any expereince of costa del sol. We were thinking about heading to torremilinos but a friend said there is more in benemidina. Anyone got any recommendations they'd like to share, if we are goin to torremilinos we will probably stay in the hotel isabel.

    Any advice would be appreciated

    I presume you mean Benalmadena.

Tbh, they look pretty much like the same place to me, in that Benalmadena is kind of a suburb of Torre. If you walk along the seafront, it is just one long continuous strip.

There is a lot around Benal along the sea front, but in Torre I believe there are a lot of clubs up in the town centre.

If all you want is a beach, a pool and plenty of bars/clubs then either place will do you. There is also an aqua park just north of Torre which is quite good.

In both resorts though, I would say that the location of your apartment is key.

Benalmadena is more suitable to younger people. Torremolinos is more suited to families and doesn't have a thriving night life (apart from the gay bars). You can stay in Torremolinos and get a quick 5 minute cab ride to "24 Hour Square" and the Marina in Benalmadena. The Marina is lovely and there are some nice restaurants around the place.

Where is the 24 hour square? Is that the centre of Torre with steps/lifts down to the sea front?

It looks like a good time to go, Aer Lingus and Ryanair have some pretty cheap flights to Malaga at the moment.

It's not in Torre, it's down in Benalmadina. It's slightly inland from the marina off the main street. i thinks it's off "Av de Antonio Machado" just at the Corner of McDonald's.

I would pick Benalmadena that is where all the nightlife is. I have stayed in both places and when we were in Torremolinos we went to Benalmadena to go out which was only €15 by taxi. You can walk along the beach from Torremolinos to Benalmadena they are very close

We stayed in torremolinos!! Loved it I was 20 bf 22, had a great time plenty to do, great night life too, you can get the train to benalmadena too only about 2 minutes, I would go back there no bother, went to the zoo in fengirola, crocodile park, waterpark, theme park, aquarium and took a day trip to morocco all in a week and plenty of time for everything else. everything is close you can get the train to fengirola, benalmadena and loads of other places which doesn't take long at all went to salou the following year but definitly preferred torremolinos! Torremolinos, Torremolinos, Torremolinos, you wouldn't regret it! :D

Its strange how Torremolinos has managed to reinvent itself. We stayed in a hotel on the front, Bajondio I think it was called and it looked like a 1970s concrete monstrosity, but inside was lovely. It had been completely refubished, the pool was lovely and the was a lovely chirongito(sp?) Opposite on the beach that did lovely seafood.

At the time we were there, my inlaws were in Banalmadena and we walked from one to the other quite a bit. As you walk along the front there is no difference and I would quite happily stay in either place.
