    Hi,

Has anyone gone to the Ortodonteists called <snip> in Belfast. I am having my first appointment with them on the 9th of February and would like to see if anybody has any experience with them. Can't wait to get my braces.:)

I have had no personal experience of the <snip> practice, so I can't tell you if they're any good or not.

But just be aware, it is not an orthodontic practice. They are general dentists with no specialist training or qualifications. If you are thinking of getting braces there, just make sure to find out beforehand exactly who will be carrying out the treatment - it may be that they have a visiting orthodontist who does the braces for them. If not, you would be better off going to a proper registered specialist orthodontist for your treatment (there are several orthodontists in the Belfast area).

They are only offering two types 'the six months braces' and inman alignment of the upper and lower teeth....If you know of any good orthodonteists in Belfast send me a PM....This practice seems decent from reviews online etc...but you never know who writes these reviews. You have me a bit worried now!!

Ortho treatment should be done by qualified orthodontist unless it is a simple case, if they blow it you will be shipped off to an Orthodontist abd it will cost more. The Inmann and "teeth in 6 mths" are weekend courses where dentist is told to rely on ability of Lab to make correct appliance. Remember, if you have 18mth-2yrs of treatment, you will be travelling up and down to Belfast approximately every 6 weeks for the duration. How much will you lose in terms of wages/holiday days/college time during that period?.

Jeez, we're away five minutes and the rules are smashed to bits. Thread locked. Clinics are not to mentioned by name on this forum. Read the charter!
