Degradation of Irish Broadband Talk Service

    Hi All,

Has anybody noticed a Degradation of Irish Broadband Voip Talk Service?

I have being using it for last 18 months without any major issue, but since last Monday

    1) All incoming mobile calls show as IP 0 instead of the actual number
    2) Voice Quality is not as good, sometimes it crackles
    3) When using the numeric keypad to access online banking or dial into conference calls I need to try 6 or 7 times until it works (sometimes I need to give up).

Otherwise it says I only pressed 0 or it says i left out different digits. As I dial into a lot of conference call for work this is getting ridiculous.

I have 2 Siemen Gygaset handsets and have same issues using both so I know it is not the handset.

Has anybody noticed anything similar? Or a know issue from before?

I called their 'customer service helpline' but have heard nothing back.

    Many thanks,
    BW

Funny you should mention that. I have been trying to buy the talk service for the past week. I already have Breeze 4mb. I've called and emailed numerous times, no one seems to know who is responsible for the Talk service, how to add it onto the package or anything. As you are probably aware, Irish Broadband was recently taken over by imagine.ie. As a result, it seems their customer service on the Irish Broadband side of things has gone to Sh***.

I am going to take my business elsewhere I think. The Talk service may be discontinued according to one of the Imagine Reps I was speaking to the other day, to make way for their "Revolutionary" new phone service... Wimax I think.

Please don't quote me on this, most is just speculation, but it may help answer your question

    Hi

Up until recently I was extremely satisfied with the IBB Talk Service but since Monday 25th I am still having issues with two points listed

    1) Caller Id: Mobiles appearing as ip zero instead of the actual number
    3) DTMF: My job requires me to dial into concalls and since 25th IBB Talk service is having problems recognising DTMF codes entered.

Oddly it works sometimes (one in eight tries seems to get though), but this results in me turning up late for calls or having to end calls early so I can try to dial in on time to next call.

Often it states I only pressed zero or it reads first few digits pressed but not the last few (all kind of random each time)

Which is frustrating but also impacted by the lack of interest of their customer service team, they promised callbacks, promised to pass onto 2nd Level (Blueface I think) but they never came through.

From what I can see unless it is a known issue with a known fix they are unable or want to address. They then simply leave ticket as open hoping you don't call back.

At this stage I am looking for recommendations for alternative VoIP Providers.

    Thanks,
    BW

I was thinking of getting this in and getting rid of the landline. Can anyone confirm that it's worth it. It would only be for light usage as they mostly use mobiles.

    Thanks in advance.

    m.
