I dont own one but drove one on and off for a few years so i know em fairly well.
The one i drove was a bit older but bullet proof great strong machine with bags of power, gave no real bother and it was tweaked up too, u should of seen the reek out of er.
Anyhow it gave v little bother but the later ones have an electronic throttle and lift which is a bit futtery and annoyin but if your into electrics its fine, nothing much goes wrong and electrics in sames and lambos are basically just a series of relays so if somethng plays up race the relay and away u go

I agree with Ford4000. I drove one for a good few years too. Good Machine. Reliable and solid. Guy I drove for had 2 for pulling dump trailers. One had electronics, the other was manual for the lift and throttle etc. Manual was way ahead although it was pretty cool to have all the controls you needed on the seat armrest.

Only fault I had with them was the hitch. The hooks and lifting bars were cr@p. So if you're buying, make sure the hitch is in good shape. The hitch wasnt designed for pulling 15 ton day in day out. Guy I worked for replaced them with dromone hitch.

Make sure the gearbox is in good shape. If it was abused, you will notice a lot of play in the gear lever - can be expensive to fix. (this goes for any Same)

A Same Engine, if serviced and maintained properly will run for an average of 12000 to 15000 hours before an engine rebuild is needed.

They are a great tractor. Solid and trouble free.

Yup i agree with reilig too, i cant comment on the hitch as the one i drove had had a dromone fitted the minute it hit our street !
The gearbox yes can be costly but is more trouble free than the a massey gearbox or a ford sle gearbox, they should be a little tight to put into gear dont force it a gentle nudge and it goes in lovely:o
